    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Right here, Mr Impatient!

Just one game today, a four player affair, well five if you include the guy controlling the Plague Zombies!

Last week the guy running the campaign switched from his Van Saar gang (The Blu Kru) to an Enforcer squad. For some reason in this scenario they were guarding a crate full of rare trade items and Savage Dominion, Jim's new Goliath gang (his old custom house retired, they were becoming very powerful) and 'Squidface & the Sunday Drivers' were out looking for it! The sad fact here was that despite facing a totally new gang, my poor girls still had the lowest gang rating!

May I add, 'Squidface & the Sunday Drivers' is what I call that gang as it currently does not have a name. That, and it helps me cope with the horrific fact that it is a Genestealer cult!

In this game, all four corners would randomly spawn D3+1 Plague Zombies! The centre of the board had three Enforcers surrounding the goodies.

I checked for Old battle wounds and both Titania the heavy and Icepick were sitting out. Lotus wasn't feeling too sharp today and would suffer stupidity this game.
The Sunday Drivers went first and a heavy stubber armed brother rained fire, downing an enforcer while the Magus (Squidface himself, a conversion using the plastic Chaos Sorcerer and a feeder tendril Genestealer head) teleported the Genestealer across the table where it went into a building and out of sight.

The Goliaths made their moves and a Heavy with an autocannon fired upon Pondscum, who deftly avoided the gunfire! Nice!

My gang's turn, Lotus and Pondscum used their sprint skill to scramble up the building where one of the Goliath heavies was lurking, while Jazz climbed into some ruins to cover and Charisma & Roxanne went into overwatch.

The Enforcers made their moves, but I can't remember if they really did much. Some zombies ambled in but didn't attack because no one was in range!

The Sunday Drivers went again, this time the heavy stubber fired at Charisma, taking both her wounds and downing her! Realising that neither Lotus or Pondscum were in initiative range of the first heavy, they skirted around the building in order to take aim at the second one.
Jazz scurried next to a window, waiting for targets.

Lotus and the Ratskin both fired at the heavy but both missed.

The Genestealer was doing something, but seemed uninterested in my gang. He wanted that box and was carefully moving through the buildings. They had a Heavy Plasma gun armed Hybrid who fired at a group of zombies, I didn't hear if any got taken out.

The Goliaths managed to snag the box and started to run back to their starting edge. The autocannon heavy fired at some nearby zombies, taking out three of them. The rest of his gang fired at Pondscum and Lotus, downing the Ratskin. Lotus managed to dodge a shot and remained unscathed.

My turn and Roxanne charged a zombie that was now getting near. Pondscum got up with just a flesh wound and along with Lotus, moved a bit away from where they were in order to take aim at the Goliaths running off with the loot. They both fired and Lotus managed to get a wounding hit on a juve but Pondscum missed. From her window Jazz took a shot but only pinned the ganger. In combat Roxanne managed to take down the zombie and followed up into a second one.

After the Enforcers had their turn (downing the first Goliath heavy), Roxanne and the second zombie fought to a draw. But others were moving in now....

I can't really remember what happened with the Sunday Drivers and the Goliaths retreated further towards their table edge, clearly seeking a place to defend their loot. Jazz moved to take a shot at the plague zombies moving in on Roxanne while Lotus and Pondscum moved around so they could take shots of their own, once any zombie was in range.
Combat again and Roxanne was now swamped by several zombies, she took one down but the others overwhelmed her. Out of action, but we all reckoned she had been knocked to the ground and was now scrambling away, firing her autogun into the undead wretches.

Around now the Goliaths had bottled (after taking a big hit from the Sunday Drivers Heavy Plasma Gun at a previous point) and when it came round to my turn, I reckoned the best thing here would be to bottle myself.

Despite only having five gangers I think I fared okay. Roxanne survived with an arm wound and Charisma made a full recovery. All four girls got a plus eight underdog EXP bonus with Roxanne getting a further +25 because of all the wounds she did to those zombies! Not surprisingly her combat prowess improved and she now has 2 attacks, awesome! Too bad about the toughness value of 2 though....

Charisma got a bit more resilient with an extra wound (3 now!) and Lotus did marvellously. The L'il Psychopath gained the leap skill (that'll go great with her sprint) and an extra point of toughness. Yay for double level ups!
Jazz did me proud and made it to ganger status in a new Savage Dominion record (she's only been in two games) and went up to initiative four.

With only two gangers able to visit territories I only had a net gain of 20 credits, added to my previous 35 and that left me with 55. I paid Pondscum for his services and bought Jazz a Lasgun.
I gotta say that Jazz is doing splendidly now, her BS is four and she has 2 wounds. I'd like some more like her now!

I didn't notice before but Lotus is now a gang champion! But now three of my five (including Charisma) gangers used to be juves!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Quick pic now!

From the left we have Pondscum, Jazz, Lotus, Charisma, Roxanne, Icepick and Titania. The gang's been quite battered over the course of this campaign, and next week I think there's going to be a Genestealer hunt!
I heard Rupert (the campaign arbitrator) go on about Space Hulk board tiles yesterday. Oh dear.
And after that there's going to be a prison break out and eventually the final game. I'm told to bring my Vampire Counts zombies for that one!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Right here, Mr Impatient!
    Yay my trolling succeeded!

I have to say I like the model for Lotus fits better with Icepick, for obvious reasons but I guess it wouldnt be WYSIWYG

Does your GM allow you to roll for the "ratskin is off looking for terrain" rule thingy?

If thats not the case I suggest you kick pondscum out and replace him with a juve/ganger... He cant get XP (so cant improve) doesent count for bottle tests (so ontop of him you need a few more to increase the number of casualties you can take...) and since you only play in big free for all battles anyway your probably better off with a bigger gang then with a hireling that keeps costing money and doesent find you terretories Since youd need to WIN the games. And with the gang in their current state I dont see that happening all to soon sadly

Mind, if your only going to be playing 3 more games anyway I guess it doesent make much of a difference... Might want to keep him in for the flavour of your gang The winner of the campaign IS going to be buying all the drinks (or at least the first round) at the pub right?

    -edit-

Btw I just noticed your gangrating my own was higher when I started a new gang if that isent an indication of how hard your gang has suffered I dont know what is...

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Well I did tell you every Monday there'll be a batrep. And I get home late anyway even then!

I understand what you mean about Lotus and Icepick. The thing is while I do agree, it makes more sense for Lotus to carry the maul as she has frenzy (when I roll a 4, 5 or 6 before a game), while Icepick being more sound of mind does not. Therefore she is able to parry where Lotus couldn't in a frenzied state.
When Icepick was a juve I used the model armed with a pick and stub gun to represent her.

I don't get to roll for the territory if I don't win a game (or least draw). The arbitrator tells me that everyone will lose territories soon, but then again I was also told that I wouldn't be the only one to suffer from losing so many gang members down a collapsing floor.
Hmm, no one else lost anyone to a weak floor that day. Yeah, I'm very bitter over that but the plan was never to cull just my gang, it was meant for everyone. I just had very crap luck that day.

The Ratskin will probably stay. I'm want to save up for a plasma gun for Roxanne as she has the specialist skill, and even then there's probably not enough time to do so. And even if I did hire another member, it'd probably have to be another juve with hand me down weapons. Practically everyone I've had to hire to fill in losses has been given hand me downs.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Haha I know m8 I know I just needed my fix badly and thought id investigate what was keeping it so long

Doesen the GM adjust the game or *shrugs* alter the rules of the game if things arent going as he intended? Only having 1 gang decimated seems somewhat... Opposite to what he was planning seems that, if anything it will only make the other gangs stronger since you will be less able to put up a fight

Im curious. How do you guys meet up for a game weekly? Do you have a steady location where you meet up? Does everyone come every week? Does the GM also play in the campaign himself or does he play the zombies/mutants/arbiters?

Also does he have a unique game every week? From what reports ive seen so far every game is unique

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Well every Monday, late at night is when I usually update. Often within a hour since the game was played (but I still forget the odd detail here and there)!

He hasn't made any new 'cull the herd' attempts since. One of the players who had a tremendously powerful gang retired it and started a new Goliath gang (the same one I faced). However there is that Genestealer cult that now boasts a WS10 namesake! Not to mention it also features a Heavy Plasma Gun and a Heavy Stubber now! I on the other hand, feature two members with Old Battle Wounds. I'm starting to doubt I'll be able to buy that plasma gun for Roxanne now.

We all meet up before 6 at the local game shop. Jim's the guy who owns and runs it, Rupert's the guy who runs the campaign. I turn up every week and so does the Genestealer player (although he has been away once or twice) but there's usually enough people for multi-player games. I'd like more 1 on 1 games though, I think I'd stand more of a chance then but we don't have enough tables as not everyone who turns up plays Necromunda. The game shop has it's gaming nights and people turn up usually for Warhammer, WH40K or even Warmachine! Us Necromunda players are in the minority!

The arbitrator, Rupert, does play in the campaign. Up until the collapsing floor scenario he ran a Van Saar gang, the Blu Kru. But after that when were all in the Underhive he introduced the outlaw rules and began running an Enforcer squad.

We've had a unique game most of the nights actually. Mostly because of the lack of table space so there's usually a multi-player scuffle going on. On New Year's day we had a three vs three game which was meant to represent a riot going on! Luckily I was on the winning side for that game, Sunshine even got the shot of the game taking out two Scavvies with a single shot from her Heavy Plasma Gun!
So far that's been the only actual win I've had. Too bad I didn't have Pondscum then, maybe I'll hire a Ratskin from the start next time I'm in a Necromunda campaign!

    Ah thats awesome

Ive been trying to get a weekly get together or such going on but im not having much luck... Mostly because everyone has different times that they have to devote to school/work. Quite frankly the only time that (nearly)everyone has freed up is in the weekends...

Glad to hear that you guys did manage

What will you guys do when this campaign is over? Start a new one?

    Re: Into the Underhive!

There's been talk of a campaign using the Infinity ruleset and I think some new rules ideas. I guess I'd finally have a chance to try those Yu-Jing models I bought years ago!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Oh, it's another game by some company by Corvus Belli (I think). It's a sci-fi skirmish game with the artwork drawn in an anime style, apparently one of the rules is that when your guys are shot at, they get to shoot back. In your opponent's turn!

In other news, Jim's planning a new Necromunda campaign, except this one is set on a Forge World that's been attacked....
    BY CHAOS!

Chaos? In the 41st Millennium? Who would've thought? And here I was thinking my worst enemy was a collapsing floor and a Genestealer with WS10 and leap (yes, leap). It has an arm injury though, but it's kinda moot considering it has three other arms. Arms with claws. Claws that deal 'Blinded in one eye' and 'Head Wound' results on the serious injuries chart. Funnily enough that beast hasn't killed any of my girls, but a floor malfunction wiped off four in one go. I'm still p.issed about that, and will probably still be this time next year providing 2012 doesn't kill us all off first!

But anyway, one of the features Jim is presenting is that we design our own gangs (I think using the Custom House gangs ruleset ) and have to come up with a backstory to it. Fun, eh?

There's a lot of scope for creativity here, I think I'll go with some Chaos Marauders cross-bred with Catachan Jungle Fighters! I've been meaning to kit bash those together for years now. That'll be a while off though.
Right, Saturday evening, only two more sleeps 'til Necromunda game night, and please no more collapsing floors!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Oh my God what a night!

We had the most unusual game of Necromunda I've ever had. One half of the board looked like a typical set-up, the other....

Well, you'd be forgiven for thinking someone was going to play Space Hulk next to our scenery!

That's right, the Genestealer cult's Tyranid nest has been discovered and the Enforcers had hired Savage Dominion, Jim's Goliath's and Luke's three Spyrers to go in and stamp them out! We were told to pick 5 members each so I chose Charisma, Icepick, Pondscum, Jazz and Lotus. Me and Jim also got some extra help in the form of a couple of Van Saar Gangers (amazing gangers) from Rupert's previous gang. Groovy.
There were the Enforcers standing along one table edge as a second line of defence and we took our turn. The girls and Spyrers ran down one end of the table while the Goliaths stormed up the front.

To be honest, this game took forever and I'm tired so I'll just give the highlights.
The fighting was pretty vicious. The Genestealer cult took a pounding with Squidface retreating into the corridors while the rest of the cult (including Cuddles the Genestealer) getting taken out of action. One of my hired gangers was marvellous, keeping a hybrid pinned most of the time with his boltgun, BS6, marksman and hip shooting skills! Too bad he failed an ammo test afterwards!
Luke's Jakara and Orrus made short work of some brood brothers, but unfortunately Lotus got taken OOA. His Malcadon got pinned by some firepower though.
The Genestealer could've been a problem for Jim's Goliaths when it charged them, but the Enforcers sent a smoke grenade flying that broke up the fight allowing the Goliath heavies to rain firepower into the Xenos monster. One autocannon and one heavy stubber later and we were free of that pest!

Inside the corridors, Luke's Orrus and Jakara tanked their way through several Tyranid creatures while the Goliaths, Charisma, Jazz and some hired help entered through another tunnel. My marksmen entered a tunnel by himself.
The spyrers, Icepick and Pondscum were attacked by Squidface. Several gruelling combats later he eventually fell, but so did Pondscum and the Jakara!

It's all a blur from here, Tyranids were stomped, Gangers got taken OOA, Icepick took forever to find a Meltagun but eventually our gangs got to the end of the network, meltagunned a monstrous Tyranid warrior and defeated the Zoanthrope waiting at the end. But by now only Icepick, the Orrus and one of the hired gangers were still standing! Everyone else was OOA!

We got to keep full income and there was bounties for whatever Tyranids we killed. I got 75 creds for killing the warrior, too bad it was using one of my hired gangers though. Jazz killed a Hormagaunt but then we rolled for injuries.
And Jazz was dead! I swore a lot as she had BS4 and 2 Wounds, not someone you want to lose.
And annoyingly Charisma and Lotus did not gain advances, even with 2D6 EXP and a plus eight Underdog exp bonus! Icepick was the only one got a strength boost.
Charisma who had managed to remain unscathed through the campaign got multiple injuries resulting in partial deafness, head wound and horrible scars! Lotus got impressive scars though so that's not too bad.

With my 200 something creds I went about paying Pondscum, buying Roxanne a plasma gun, lobo chipping Charisma and hiring three new gangers.

However the enforcers double crossed us, and I now have Charisma, Lotus and Pondscum in jail. Next week, Jailbreak!

In other news, I've decided not to run a Chaos Guard gang in Jim's campaign. Instead I have a groovier idea!
I'm going to play a Rogue Trader and his crew! Prepare for kit bashing!

Whoa man that battle sound sounds like a meatgrinder

Sad to hear 3 of your members are in jail. IF it makes you feel any better theyre not dead? Nice to get 200 credits of income as well! Its even nicer when you notice you can finaly increase your gangs size.

Lovely to hear that some payback is coming up, be sure to let us know how the battle goes As a small aside, wasent the genestealer cult a players gang? If so you all basicly ganged up on him and whacked off his entire gang

OOOOOOOO a rogue trader! Now if that doesent allow some nice customisation I dont know what will!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Yeah, jail doesn't mean dead but hopefully next week I can spring 'em. On an aside, I'm pretty sure I heard the arbitrator say that 'dead' results will instead mean captured by the enforcers, but he left before the night was over so I couldn't get any clarification, hence why I haven't updated my gang on Yakromunda yet.
Besides, I still have three new girls to name!

Spent most of yesterday assembling gangers and heavies for my Rogue Trader crew (Gang doesn't sound right for them). I'll have pics around soon-ish.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Haven't put heads on the four I've made so far (want to make sure I use the right head for each one). I think it's a new campaign rule the arbitrator put in so the gangs would have a reason to participate in the jailbreak.
Makes sense really, I was wondering why a gang like Savage Dominion would even be attempting such a thing!

Just frikkin' marvellous, my new operating system won't seem to allow photo bucket access to my computer! Which means I'm using Warseer to upload pictures and I don't get to present them how I want them to be seen.
And I also can't comment on them individually because right now I have no idea what order my pictures are in.

This update feels ruined, stupid Lion OS. I should've just stuck to Snow Leopard OS, at least that lets me upload to Photobucket. Well this feels all stupid to me, I can't even enjoy making this post. Who knows what I'd be talking about as I don't know which picture is which, I could be talking about two gangers and you'd be looking at something entirely different.

EDIT- Well I still don't like it as I didn't choose the order but if I look at the previews I can at least find out where each pic is. The order is totally wrong and makes no sense really. Stupid operating system spoiling everything for me. I don't even feel like talking about my models and I usually LOVE to go in depth with them. But I'm in a foul mood so starting from the left we have two gangers, then a back view of them.
Following that is a back view of my heavy and another ganger, then two shots of my leader/Rogue Trader. And then the front shot of the heavy and third ganger. It's a stupid non-sensical order. I don't know why my Dad wanted me to change my OS, Snow Leopard was just fine. I can't use Photobucket and on top of that I can't even use Word, Photoshop or play Warcraft 3.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Hmmm yea I havent found out how to get the order that I want either

Going from the pictures that ive seen though im going to wager a guess as to how your gang is made up thus far

Pictures 1 and 2: ganger with shotgun, sword and las (or auto) pistol, ganger with lasgun, sword and (frag)grenades? (or is the little pouch with rope and grenade just for shows?)
Picture 3 and 6: heavy with grenade launcher, sword and pistol (las or auto) should have some grenades somewhere since hes armed with a grenade launcher... together with a ganger with shotgun, sword, boltpistol and frag grenade
Picture 4 and 5: Gang leader(or rather rogue trader) with plasma pistol and chainsword. I also see a second pistol hanging on his belt but am unsure what it is... second plasmapistol?

If im doing the math correctly you still have about 200 points un accounted for in this case.... Some juves or more gangers still to come?

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Nice that you spotted all the details there dude! To be honest a lot of the extra grenades and pistols are just there for flavour, the gangers will all start with a shotgun or lasgun (tried using an Ork shoota as an autogun, it was way too big) and most will have a sword. The poses and extra pistols are just for the "Rule of Cool", I may or may not fill in the Wargear gaps as I go through the campaign!

There are two more gangers to come along with a pair of Juves (representing ship crew unused to fighting) and a second heavy, which may be a Half-Eldar if I could just get hold of the Guardian Torso I want. Bitz shops never have stuff in stock it seems! I have one more ganger, heavy number 2 and the Juves to make now, Ganger 4 was put together moments before I turned on my laptop.

But enough about the equipment choices, what do you think of my models?

Well if I took the time to describe every piece of gear on them... What do YOU think?
