Marks of Chaos?

Sorry if this seems REALLY daft.

I'm getting confused by the Powers of Chaos Fleet lists. The Marks of Chaos come under the Fleet Commander sections

Does that mean you have to take a warmaster or lord to have a mark for an individual ship? (this seems very expensive)

Or can you give mark of chaos to a ship without a fleet commander?

yep, you need a lord to get a mark.

Indeed the marks are quite expensive for multiple ships, however they're not as bad in the 13th fleet list as in the 12th with the lords being 25pts cheaper. I usually will not include marks unless I have extra points to blow or Im going for a specific theme.

What Horizon said, except that daemonships also get marks too (included in their price). So you can't just get a mark for a normal ship - it needs to be led by a lord or a bunch of demons. Mind you, you were probably asking about entirely normal ships, not daemon ships.
