Charmed shield, Hellfire Sword (granting flaming attacks and all unsaved wounds to become D3+1 wounds) and the favour of the gods for EOTG adjusting. I have two warshrines that toss blessings onto him. I had +1 St and +1 A giving him 7 strength 6 attacks (due to frenzy from mark of khorne) then the 5 st 5 attacks from the Manticore.

Honestly, don't for a second more think about whether or not it is the most effective option. It is the most awesome option so there! Very dynamic pose to the bullticore (O_o), and the lord looks awesome too! I am pretty jealous!

thanks guys, it was the idea for this conversion that inspired everything you see in this blog. It has been helpful to have a key element in an army to keep going back to in your head. And i love the name Bullticore ...consider it stolen (with all due credit of course lol)

As you can tell from the items I give him his main job is monster hunting ... aside from sphinxes (damn you toughness 8) i can chew through pretty much any monster before they get to swing. As well as going through troll or ogre units that are relying on regen like a lawnmower. So he can be effective, just not optimal ... some opponents I go against that are warmachine heavy or tons of troops can be a pain. Oh ... and terrorgheists ... but i don't know a monster riding character alive who doesn't hate them ......

here is a possibility i am thinking about for my Bale taurus painting its skin to look like it is black rock like skin with burning heat under the surface. I am hoping to get peoples opinions though .... do you think it will look good, or too busy? should i make the spaces between the lines larger ? etc All thoughts and comments are welcome...

Sounds like a great idea, but I think maybe make the space in between the fiery veins a bit larger? I mean, if there were larger chunks of black rock skin then it wouldn't look too busy I think. Also, if you want the 'heat simmering under the surface' effect, maybe try some OSL around the edges of the rocks to give that real 'burning hot' effect, sort of like the link below

    Hope that helps

Re: Burning Hatred - Mortal Chaos army,

Looks great! Blend in some white to the yellow for brighter spots, and give the skin some more large patches of black. Right now everything is about the same size, and over the course of the model it might look too symmetrical and unnatural.

Also be sure to highlight the upper portions of the rocks in some lighter grey color to create the illusion of depth, lest they look like black spots rather than cracked rocks.

Re: Burning Hatred - Mortal Chaos army,

after a few attempts I have decided to try something a tad different. I will be painting the Taurus dark grey and i will paint burning veins at a few points. That way i can make the armour black with gold highlights and the eyes will still stand out when i paint them. Pics soon (i Hope)
