Altdorf PLOG, revival of an Old Empire Army

    Hi all,

This is where I will post the improvements on my Empire Army, and maybe some extra projects of my other armies.
I have an old Empire army. Many old models. Thouhg I am not satisfied with most of my regiments. Regiments are my nemesis. Some of my new regiments look apauling compared to some of my much older models. I am planning on improving that. Making new regiments and refurbish some of the old metal models.

So It might be that you will see older models finshed later then newer models. I also think i can still inprove a lot. So if you have any comments I would like to hear them. We can all learn, I always say.

My army will be an Altdorf army. ' Does the Empire have any other significant cities or states then?', Burgomeister from Altdorf.

Ok that was the practical joke now lets get going
So lets start here with some models that are finished and some work in progress.

Here is the Banner for my new regiment swordsmen.

It is a bit older model bit but love this standard bearer very much. I have a second one that I will use for a Halberd regiment

The banner it self is nice i think. But nowadays i would do some smoother blending. But Alas we all learn.

This will be the champignion for the regiment of swordsmen.

It did not totaly turn out the way I wanted it be but the cloak is cool I think. It was done with washes en drybrush.

    The swords are non metallic.

This is a scratch build priest since I feld the priests needed an other look from what games workshop offered.

I learned a lot from building this one. I have rebuild arms legs and other things with green stuff. But the cloak was a whole new dimension.
I have new ideas and experiences that I will use building a second priest.

The cloak was painted using layering, washes and dry brush.

    This is really WIP.

THe plastic steam tank. I have the old metal steam tank but it needs some refurbishing. So that will be my attention later on my live.

Now here are some pictures of what I cooked up so far for the steam tank.

Apart that will most likely never be seen again.

    This one is WIP

A scratch build engineer. The coat has been edited with green stuff. The left leg and arm are completely green stuff.
The model is almost done but just needs something with the repeater hand gun, the staff for the rifle and the lit for the chest.

Nice! I've never seen the rest of your Empire stuff (only the standard bearer and the swordman, of which I can say they look even better up close)... The Engineer is quite nice, a very characterfull conversion! Keep up the good work! Next time, we should join both our Empire armies and give our opponents a good imperial style trashing...
Check out my Mordheim scenery! NOW! I mean... Please... Only if you want to of course...
Get your ale while it's still hot! And discover why Stirland should rule The Empire...

    THnx Boreas,

Got some nice Ideas from your army too. So will use them and I have a nice idea for a knightly order. It will be my next project.

Great stuff. Always good to see another Empire army on here.

Can't beleive how much work you've put into the inside of the steam tank! I'm in the middle of painting mine and decided a few simple drybrushes would be enough on the inside.

Here are some of the great swords. When the unit is finished it will be 30 men strong with 3 different generations of swordsmen.
I love the new plastic models.
My least favourite are the last metal generation.

Well here is one of my oldest generation.

This is a photo that shows the parts that will make up the new priest. This WIP is going to incorporate the ideas I had after building the priest that is shown earlier in this plog.

The photo will show a rough set up of what will be the end result.

Re: Altdorf PLOG, revival of an Old Empire Army

This is the priest that is in the next step.

This is going to be a lot of green stuff. The left arm as you can see does not exist yet. Then he will have a cloak that will also be made up of green stuff. It will be a hooded cloack. That is going to take a lot of time. Bit the end result will be good, i hope hahah.

Alright if your any ideas for either the engineer or the priest i love to hear.

    Well here are the pictures.

alright here is some more work in progress. I really loved the coat from the Pistoleer / outrider box and new I had to make an engineer with it. So here is the start. It will take some green stuff to get it look great but hey that is the challenge.

The first photo showing the coat is bit blurry sorry for that.

Re: Altdorf PLOG, revival of an Old Empire Army

Here is an update on the engineer.

There is some basic paint coat. And with green stuff a furr collar has been made. Now most of it wll just be painting.
The plan is to paint the trousers a colour of blue. the shirt will be painted red, the laid in pieces will be painted red to be exactly.

The coat is going to be dark red brown. The first base colour and wash are already on there.

Here is the engineer almost finished. The base and some small details need to be done. But you can get a good feel where this is going.
