But i already have some models. Those will Posted here and will start with a vampire Lord. Love it dark red.

    Cheers.

    This is my vargulf.

It is the old metal model. I am planning on doing the Resin model also. The are good infiltration units, going behind enemy lines for artillery etc.

It is a quite standard colour scheme with dark purple wings, so it wil match and blend in with my army.

Wow, that's quite a nice way to start a plog! Cool to see all those models on the forum after facing them on the field of battle (in real life, they look even better than the pictures). Be sure to keep up the pace, because after such a start, we expect a lot more from you, soon!

Cool. I just started painting vampire counts army i got from my friend. They are in really really bad shape and covered by inch of paint and almost no detail is showing, but i really hope and wish that i get them looking as good as your counts! Nice job!

    Thnx Strife_77

I am quite proud of the Vargulf. Though I can still improve a lot. I am at the moment finishing my grave guard. But the grave guard is hard to play with. They are fragile. So even before they are finished they had some grave repairs.

Well it has been very long while since I posted here. Well there are coming some new postes now since I needed an army to play with and this army was the easiest to revive. I started with a unit of crypt ghouls. They were first all build and then spray painted in one go to save time. Since I was curius what the difference would be between the old wash and new haze I washed some models with the old wash and some with the new haze. I will show the result later. First some pictures to show the proces of the ghouls.

both models have been painted the same way till the last moment. The only difference that the model on the left has the new haze wash and on the right the Thraka green.

The thraka green has a more dark green and effect and the wash more yellow green and effect.

Re: My Vampire counts plog, Old armies rise to live again

Since it was a hell to get all the ghouls together on one movement tray, again sheet metal. I decided to make unit filler. It also ads some scenery. I got a nice old ghoul from ebay and used it together with tomb stones. The ghoul has the Haze wash. Well here is the result. From top to bothom is the work in progress.

Re: My Vampire counts plog, Old armies rise to live again

With the new rule book I did find that bat swarms in some occasions can be handy. They could be handy against armies with big models that have few in a unit like Ogres. They wil not be usefull against big block units. So I wanted something to makethe bads look better and the only way is to do a good base. Hope you like the result.

Re: My Vampire counts plog, Old armies rise to live again

I did realy like the Vargheists when they came out. So I bought a box. Build the models and did a spray paint and then only dry brush and washes. They are not finnished yet. but here is the WIP
With the bits i have over, the crypt horrors, i will build crypt horrors using putty. Long time project hahaha

The Vargheists so far. Would love to see them in action

Re: My Vampire counts plog, Old armies rise to live again

Something that I feel is missing with VC army are were wolves. I just feel they should be in there. I did already see many were wolves from other producers but that could get to a problem when playing a game. Since some ppl only want GW models.
The answer came from Forge world. I bought the Skin wolves and they would be my were wolves. To be able to use them in my army I also bought Monstrous Arcanum. This turned out be a a dissapointment. MA relies on Storm of magic to use the monsters and in my personal opinion Storm of magic is a Failure. I never used and dont even plan to do so.

Well then to the quality of the models. They are poor. One hand had 1 and half finger missing ( I complained to FW, but so far no reply) and all the models had air pockets in them. The mould lines were terrible. The moment I cut the mould lines away the air pockets became big holes. FW buy a Verlinden resin model and see what you can improve.
The models apart from the faults are great. True detail, but for the price i paid I expect them to be of better quality.
Well here are the photos showing some af the faults i mean.

Re: My Vampire counts plog, Old armies rise to live again

Well one wolf is almost finnished. Maybe needs just a few drops of paint in the eyes and a bit of wash on the nails. But I like the end result. Though in my mind it could be better but I guess we all know that feeling.
