Great blog, Great clean painting! love the Bale Taurus, how has he done game wise? I need to place a FW order for the new monstrous arcana, and might pick some other things, love this model but not sure I'll ever us it, and it costs a bundle...

@mbh1127: Yes, no Hobgoblins - yet
@Ender Shadowkin: Truth be told, I have no idea how the Taurus performs gameswise - I'm going to use the army on the 5th of May for the very first time, which means that I've planned the whole army from a theoretical/aesthetic point of view. There are no Empire or Dwarf armies in my gaminggroup, so cannons should be rare...
Pretty cool List.
Not sure 3 Sorcerers will be needed tho. But I'm looking forward to see you progress, and your gonna have to start painting all that infantry soon![]()

I don't think so, too - but the models look greatNot sure 3 Sorcerers will be needed tho.
18 Infernal Guard and 9 Inferanl Guard with Blunderbusses are already painted - but you're right, the rest of the infantry might take the most time....and your gonna have to start painting all that infantry soon
Here's the newest update on the Dreadquake Mortar:
![]()
I thought it might take a while, but the slvae-ogre came along quite fast:
I've tried to achieve a leathery skincolour to show that he is relentlessly working for his cruel masters.
Very nice, I like his back, the whip marks are very good.
@ChrisMurray: Thanks - the slaveogre was a pleasure to paint (that sounds somehow wrong)
The Dreaquake Mortar is finally finished!
The model was a blast to paint. It has so many small details and the crew appears to really be working on it. Hopefully it will do great gameswise, too.
As Cassarus has already pointed out, it's time to get some infantry done: next on my list are the last 5 Infernal Guard, 4 more guys with Blunderbusses and this fellow:
I'm once again open for ideas on how to name him.
Good Dreadquake mortar! I particularly like the Ogre. I think the verdigris on the bronze is too bright, but it still looks pretty good. I'd have painted the bottom of the barrel interior black to simulate darkness.
How about Makurazzur, Balthagoth or Ishkarrund as a name for your you Hellsmith?
I second the above posts - great looking mortar! Would've also painted the interior black I think though. I dig the slave ogre, does he have a brand on his right shoulder there?
...maybe stealing a name from some obscure black metal band or other might work?
Plog of Jericho - Wood Elves, Daemons, Beastmen, CSM and Whatnot.
MD: You got a christmas gift?
House: Yeah, 'cause I worship Santa. Or wait, is that Satan? I always get them mixed up.
great job mate very simple scheme for the chaos dwarf but effective and thank you for the nice pics of the mortar now I will buy one
@Karak Norn Clansman: Thanks for your feedback! You're right, it should be darker. I'll try to darken it without painting it black though, as the contrast might be a bit too much - maybe several layers of Badab Black might help...I'd have painted the bottom of the barrel interior black to simulate darkness. Thanks for the names - I like "Ishkarrund" very much, so I'll gladly use that one.How about Makurazzur, Balthagoth or Ishkarrund as a name for your you Hellsmith?
@Satan:Yes, he has - the branding looks a bit too prominent though - it's my only minor complaint on a nice sculpt.I dig the slave ogre, does he have a brand on his right shoulder there?Cool idea...maybe stealing a name from some obscure black metal band or other might work?
@eldargal:I think that would make my Great Unclean One upset - he's already named "Bob"...Bhob.
@miciobello:You're welcome! aybe I should ask Forgeworld for some refunds if I'm advertising for their models in this log????thank you for the nice pics of the mortar now I will buy one
Back to painting Chaos Dwarfs:
Four more Blunderbuss wielding Guards were painted yesterday:
The last 5 Infernal Guards with shields are currently being painted.
The last of my Infernal Guard with shields are finished:
...which gives me my first finished infantry unit:
To complete todays update, here's something I got from ebay:
He came together with Oglah Khan and his wolfriders for about 45 Euro - including shipment from Canada. All of the models were horribly painted, but a litlle stripping helped.
The whole infantry unit looks really nice. As soon as you get a lot more done you need to take an army shot.
The Man's Prayer
I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.
I'm currently taking painting commissions and drawing commission at the moment.
My worklog: http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175350
Great stuff! I like how the drum looks like a tub of lava. I have some if those wolf riders too. I actually really like the sculpts, but I'm swapping the mounts out for the new wolves.

@Dino:Be sure about that!As soon as you get a lot more done you need to take an army shot.
@Ender Shadowkin:That's a great idea! The wolves included in the auction look like they won't be salvageable, so new wolves are a must-have for them - I might as well try the SW-sculpts...but I'm swapping the mounts out for the new wolves.
It's about time for the next update!
My second infantry-unit is finished, the Infernal Guard with Blunderbusses. The first shot shwos the last four modles, followed by a groupshot of all 17.
The Blunderbuss-Guards are not the only models, though.
I've completed Ishkarund, my first Daemonsmith:
Looking at the models still left, I'm not sure if my deadline (05.05.) will work, so I thought about what I have painted and what I still have to paint, to field a completely painted army: my most expensive model is Grendal, the Sorcerer-Prophet, who costs 600 points. In order to filed him, I need to have a 2400 points-army. Units/models painted yet, are worth 2100 points, so I still need to paint an additional 300 points - nearly the exact point-cost of a Skullcracker:
...and I've just seen the K'Daai on Warhammer-Forge![]()

Awesome awesome painting! You have breathed new life into the old big-hat sculpts, and thanks to the tight colour scheme they fit right in with the new models.
The army is going to look amazing together on the battlefield. I second the call for an army shot.
My Empire, Nurgle Chaos Warriors and High Elves, all in one place.
Still going in The Tale of Fantasy Painters 2012-2013!
Nice progress, and especially nice to see an upcoming Skullcracker! Can we have an army shot once it is finished?![]()
Thanks for all your kind words - the army shot will follow, once the Skullcracker is finished.
Nice to see a good Chaos Dwarf army log
