Very cool Chaos Dwarfs, really like teh armour and Drazhoath is very striking, the army must look great when it's gathered together.
Nice work with the Daemonsmith, I think is the most dwarfish model of the chaos dwarf range, he even have a dwarf symbol in his hammer!

I'm repeating myself: Thanks for all the kind words!
He is indeed the most dwarfish model, but the symbol on the hammer can be found on the Iron Daemon/Skullcracker, too - it's a broken anvil.I think is the most dwarfish model of the chaos dwarf range, he even have a dwarf symbol in his hammer!
A friend was with me this evening and we worked on our fantasy armies. He finished his Rogue Idol and I started work on the Skullcracker:
There's obviously still lot's of work to do, but I think you get a first impression.
Everything looks better with a bit of colour on, can see more details and pick more out, and this is no exeption, is a lot more detailed than I originaly thought, looks great. I must say that it looks daunting, like an evil version of Willi Wonka's thingy mobile in the original film. Just a quick question about it, other than its impact hits, all it does is thunderstomp right? So agaisnt Monstrous Infantry/Cavalry/Beasts and Monsters it doesn't do a lot? Just checking cause my mates just got one and wanted to clarify?

...and a horror to paint! The normal Iron Daemon can be built in a way that the main carriage is split into two parts, so that you're able to reach everything quite easily - no way on this beast here!is a lot more detailed than I originaly thought
Good that you metioned it - I wouldn't have thought about it. You're right, it's just Impact hits and later on the Thunderstomp. The crew is allowed to attack, but that's only 3x S3.Just a quick question about it, other than its impact hits, all it does is thunderstomp right? So agaisnt Monstrous Infantry/Cavalry/Beasts and Monsters it doesn't do a lot? Just checking cause my mates just got one and wanted to clarify?
Not to side track this thread, but is you friend on warseer too. Would love to see someone else's Rogue Idol painted up.
Back on topic, been following this thread since your first post and can't wait to see an army shot when your ready.

@Deaf Paradox: No problem - I'll ask him for a pic.
A little more work on the Skullcracker: I've painted the red edge-highlights and the turquoise on the bronze parts.

The broken anvil is on the dwarf map for lost holds as well, so is symbolic?

@Gonfrask/dwarboy: Hmm, that's interesting. Seems like the Chaos Dwarfs use the broke anvil as a symbol to show that they were somehow abbandoned by their brothers.
Last update before adding the wheels:
The model is overall quite flimsy, so I'm considering adding a base to it and one for the normal Iron Daemon also.

Wow, that skull cracker looks fantastic. I like the model much better seeing all the details painted.

Great to see someone tackiling these minis and so skillfully too, kinda inspiring.. checks bank balance... sobs
can't wait to see more
Nah, the whole army wasn't that expensive - the models have a high pointcost
My Skullcracker is, apart from the crew finished:
I might have been a bit too enthusiastic with the blood, but I've painted it on the normal models, so I had to use it on the Skullcracker, too - which is essentially a slaughterhouse on wheels...
Lol... bloodybut I like it
, one think is inappropriate in my opinion, the skull cracker should leave some bloody trail, it will give base some realism.
Cheers!
[QUOTE=Dezmord;6177599@Ender Shadowkin: That's a great idea! The wolves included in the auction look like they won't be salvageable, so new wolves are a must-have for them - I might as well try the SW-sculpts...
[/QUOTE]
Those new wolves are really really nice scultps I just put up a couple of photos on my Plog with the hobgobs on them. I think the models blend pretty well together.
