    Warriors of Chaos rumours

Curious if people can confirm or deny these rumours. I was talking to a nice guy on the internet, he claimed to have a friend that works for Games-Workshop in Nottingham. He then told me, that Chaos will be released in December. Then said a few things about the new release.

    New Models:
    Warshrine/ Chariot
    Chaos Dragon
    Dragon Ogres
    Forsaken
    New Character Models

He then went on to say that, Spawns might get 5+WS, core Warriors to be cheaper, Marauders get small price hike, Dragon Ogres might be T5, Forsaken might be core and skirmishers, Chaos Knights get price decrease, SC Kromm & Engrimm Von Hortsman would be back. He also told me that mark of Tzeentch no longer increase ward save, new Eye of the Gods chart, Favour of Gods gone. Also said most Chaos players will be very happy. Can anyone please comfirm or deny this information? Harry or Hastings or anyone else. It sounded like he had the inside scoop on Warriors. I asked him about Bretonnia and he said nothing about them. But said not to hold my breath on anything new for 2012. I told him that's my favorite army.

Re: rumours about Chaos, can anyone comfirm?

Threads created like this tend to be against the news and rumours rules.

Re-name it Chaos rumours, stating what you have heard and ask people to take with a pinch of salt. People then pretty much comfirm or not what you have heard.

Although I forget when, I have heard of those models being release in plastic along with Plastic Nurgle Daemons from some posters on here. Forgotten which threads that was now though, but it is the first time I have seen a date pegged down for them .

I have approved this thread, as it is not one merely asking for rumours. A good chunk of rumours are provided, with the plead for confirmation and discussion. I did change the thread title though.

Mark of Tz not increasing ward save is no suprise, but Im at a loss of what it might do other than that.
Looking back at prior Warrior editions...I dont have my old Chaos books with me, but didnt it previously provide a 1 time reroll of to hit, to wound, armor or ward save?

That might be handy without being OTT.

from memory, Marks formerly have been:
    Slannesh- Unbreakable
    Nurgle- +1 Toughness
Tzeentch - reroll 1 roll thing
    Khorne- Frenzy

All of those actually sound like they would be appropraitely costed if equally balanced point wise. Well maybe not the unbreakable thing that would still need to be immunity to fear, terror, and panic. Unbreakable warriors would just be sick.

To the Op all of those rumors I have heard as well, with the exception of the Warrior point costs. I was told by little birds that core would probably stay the same price or become more expensive point-wise.

Wow... I hope these things aren't true. Warriors are the best elite infantry in the game for their price already and are already core. Dragon ogres are some of the best monstrous infantry in the game with 4 wounds each and a great armor save. Chaos knights are are quite possibly the best cavalry in the game for their price already.

The price hike in marauders is needed, skirmishing forsaken sounds great, but the other changes? Why would the best close combat army in the game need to be even better at it with the units that already are taken because they're amazing?

The other rumors and new models sound great, but I'm not sure how I would feel if Chaos knights/warriors got even cheaper or dragon ogres got even tougher.

On the bright side, the dragon will no doubts be an amazing model as Galraunch has never been that great and is quite dated now. Speaking of dated, the current metal dragon ogre models were dated/terrible the moment they were released. I have high hopes for their re-release as in concept art they look great.

The chaos dragon looks like it'll probably just be fineca$t. The current one is a good model and there's a forge world version if I'm not mistaken..I can picture a lot of this coming put well before the next book.

    Re: Warriors of Chaos rumours

Well, the Forge World Chaos Dragon is so large that you can fit a Arachnarok on each of its wings. So I'd rule that one out. And Galrauch...he is a SC, and many seem to dislike the sculpt. I don't have anything against it tbh, but nevertheless it is a Dragon SC and no Chaos Dragon. Egrimm back would be interesting, if only to see how they change the background of Baudros this time. (Galrauchs's background of being incarcerated beneath the Pyramid of Light was originally Baudros' story)

I for one only hope that Nurgle gets some attention, just a bit of joyful foulness to make my sores weep with joy...

Actually in 6th edition Mark of Tzeentch was for characters making them automatically wizards and for units granting one power dice per unit. Nurgle was +1 T for heroes, fear for units. Khorne was frenzy fest all around and one dispel dice per unit and Slaanesh was immune to psychology for everything if I remember correctly.

Dropping the ward save is no surprise given the amount of whining it has caused. I am quite curious to see what will replace it and be suitably "tzeentcy" in feel. I have no opinion on the marauder/warrior/knight cost adjustments as this will depend on what changes GW will make on their stats. Frankly I see no reason for the marauder price hike. We are talking about a model with crappy stats on a 25 mm base. If they feel it was excessive why not increase the price of great weapons for the unit? Frenzied GW armed marauders seem to be the only version that causes offence. I wish they removed the whole eye of the gods crap. It never worked the way it should and it became good only in the chosen/shrines one trick pony. Forsaken as skirmishers sounds like the unit will have a use at last. I am glad to read about the change to DOs and spawn if they do come to pass. They needed something and can we improve ogres as well while we are at it? And I know it is impossible given their track record but can GW produce some decent rules for daemon princes just this once? Anyway December is a long way off so we will see how things turn out. Always nice to hear about new kits.

Given that no core infantry have got an increase in price aside from previously insanely undercosted ghoul as long as I can remember, I doubt the price of marauders will go up nor will the price of their weapon upgrades if the recent VC book is an indication.

None of the others have needed a price increase though, have they? Marauders with GWs need to be a bit more expensive, and I'm sure they will be.

Going by the previous Dragon trends, a Plastic Chaos Dragon (HE, DE & VC) seems more than likey (hoping for a dynamic rider though). But most recent big kits seem too have a dual monster about them especially the VC's, if the Dragon is going to be a Dual kit can anyone imagine what the other monstrosity will be?

Or do you think the Chaos Dragon will be its own model, along with a dual kit that will likely be an over grown/warped Spawn and another monster?

Warriors cheaper? I hope they get 1 attack then, and heavy armour instead of Chaos Armour. They are quite OP right now....

The other things seem quite legit.

Can Hastings confirm if a Chaos Dragon is indeed the "big" kit that he was talking about?
