    mordheim: circus extraordinaire

my local games club is running a mordheim campaign in a few weeks using most of the official, unofficial and experimental warbands available.
I thought it would be a good opportunity to try my hand at making some very different models. (I generally make massive sci fi beasties)

having looked through all the warbands and their various characters and options I settled on this one because it should give me a large range of interesting options and fun models.

    where to start?

well this campaign is not actually set in Mordheim but over in Cathay, so this counts out a couple of warbands and allows tweaks to be made to the rules. (e.g. after the last campaign there has been a limit put on missile weapons to make the game more interesting).

the circus will give me lots of options with a large choice of performers general circus hands and impressionable youths.

    on to the models:
looking through classic circus ideals I decided that the first attraction my circus needed was a classic strong man:

    here he is :

Wow – that's awesome! Fantastic sculpting, especially the face. The pose is very cool too – it adds a lot to the character of the model.

Amazing work Lord Blood; your green stuff skills just get better and better! I'm particularly impressed by the anatomically correct muscles in the arms. There's a real sense of weight to the, erm, weights that he's holding.

There's two very nice-looking models! I look forward to seeing the rest of the warband. The idea of fighting circus performers is very cool as well.

Cool, I like how his sleeve is swishing out of the way as he throws under it.

Great sculpting, as always. The pose is really nice, and while he's identifiable – who is this Mystery man? – he also fits right into the Warhammer world.
That said, his throwing fork looks awfully fragile. Great sculpting, but I'd be concerned about that breaking. Is it pure greenstuff, or is there enough space for a bit of wire reinforcement?

Really awesome stuff so far. The poses and realism are pretty mind blowing! One thing I would criticise, if it pleases you, is the pins the clowns are juggling look a bit uneven. I think if you tidied them up this would be beyond first class!!
    Keep up the great work
