I have dispatch confirmation. It seems that these boxes are very much real and on sale now. What is odd is how hard they seem to be to find. I'm not aware of any independent retailers in my area (not that Its a big area, I'm a student with a bike for transport) so can't check actual stores, but it seems that very few of the online retailers are selling them.
I was able to get 2 of the IG one from http://www.wargamerscave.com/ here in the states.
They arrived at my independent FLGS (Morningstar, Camberley, UK) this weekend

With all the new figures coming out it's a full restart for the DE now, and then there's a whole load of new GK & now a rebuild for the poor SoB - this has been a very expensive 12 months
I've been spitting and swearing since I saw them on saturday. Not but 3 days after I made my big purchase of marine stuff, and my store actually got some in.
My FLGS unpacked his set and the pair of 25th models when I was there playing a game on Sunday. Have to see if there next time I stop in.

My FLGS got 1 each of the boxes and the 25th anniversary figure, and that is all that he'll be getting.
These very much appear to be a one off deal that is not supposed to be sold in large numbers.

I picked up the SM box set at my LGS yesterday, it was there last one but the guys did say they were unsure if these were going to be perminent or not (they said that they hoped they would be). They also had 4 boxes of the 25th ann model on the shelf. People near don't seem to buy much of the "special" stuff that GW release.

I'd go for the boxes. Love the ME games but the demo didn't impress me enough to fork the dough for it.
How come those deal boxes never did show up on GW site...

Because they are essentially bonus exclusives for FLGS to sell. People get the good deal box from their FLGS, and maybe buy some more stuff. It's more a goodwill gesture to retailers than a new line of kits.Originally Posted by Badruk

More fool anyone who buys it. It's just a transport and unit being sold, with about a tenner off the price of buying them individually. For £50, you could easily buy say, the Tactical Squad and Drop Pod even direct from GW (cheaper online at some sites), or just chip in a bit more for the Battleforce...It's just a shame I've seen eBay seller trying to get £50 for them!
My LGS had a whole pile of them and I got the Space Marine one for 25% off due to being a regular.
Sold out within days.
