Just had a look through, not a fan of ultramarines at the best of time but these look great. The relic contemp looks good, can't wait to see it finished.

That relic contemptor looks very, very nice. I wish the standard dread looked as good as that kit, I think you've done it justice. Are you going to 'damage' it up a bit with some chips?

Thanks for the comments guys, its good to know im heading in the right direction.

Whwen the whole army is painted up im going to muddy the lot in one go, the bases are actually swamps. So i will be going for a wet effect.

Thanks again your feedback is most welcome and encouraging.

Is that three contemptors?! I thought I was going over the top with two of them.

How about a cyclone for a couple of those bad boys?

That's a lot of contemptors dude, I have to admit I was on the fence about them but they are really growing on me as I see nice ones in logs such as yours. Oh and I totally understand about the comments, but then I remember how many years Ive been on these forums and how low my post count is and try not to get too worried about it. That being said, please keep it up, everything looks great!

    Re: XIII Legion

Are you painting the blue over black? or using pure black as a shade? I'm asking because I personally find some of the figures well painted but quite jarring when moving between blue and white. If you've got a spare marine or two lying around, why not try putting a base coat of a quite dark blue all over the figure instead, as you can always go back and spot wash with badab black or whatever the new color is called.

    Looking forward to more

    Nice Ultra's!

I like the Gullieman mini and think the Custodes models are ok but the halberds and bolters look a little weedy.

However, you have painted them all really well and you are assembling a good size force...My favourite so far is your most recent effort, the Captain...already a great mini but the head swap looks even better!

    Keep it up...

    Re: XIII Legion

Thanks for all the comments and taking the time to look at my work.
    @Gomezaddams
I prime this mini in grey and then give it a blue wash followed by a black wash. Im trying to go for a comic'y feel with heavy black lining. Once i have all the force painted up im going to use some pigments and mussy the lower portions up a bit.
I want the army to look as though they have just deployed to the swamps and have yet to make contact.
@Jim really love the captain as well, i knew when i started this that it was a figure i must include. Even if he ends up serving as another honour guard model. The halberds were a dissapointment with those custodes but i still feel like they
are the best custodes options available. The scibor not custodes are too big and the detailing is a bit meh, and i dont think do it yourself(kitbashed) custodes have the wow factor that custodes are supposed to evoke( mind you there are some talented sculptors around that could do killer scratch made sculpts).
