From Grim Dark to Fairytale Worlds. Setting the scene.

I am working on a range of projects at the moment and slowly getting to the point of getting some of my armies fully painted. But whats the good of a fully painted army if the battlefield doesn't look any good.

This is my "Cartel" table. I am going to try and make some "crops" to go on it using cotton wool to get the basic shapes of the plants and then dipping the painted bushes in birch leaves to try and get the effect of the cartels crops.



I am also working on a large medieval set to use for both Scooby Do games with the kids, fantasy games and malifaux.




And of course some 40K (which is the main game played locally).




We have a tournament coming up soon so I am trying to get as much terrain as I can painted up in time.

Very pretty. Did you make the buildings in the first picture, they look oddly familiar yet I don't recognise them. Hirst arts bits?

Ooh, thanks, I knew they were familiar, I had Kobblestone in my bookmarks once but must have lost it at some point.

Yep Kobblestone is one of my favorite terrain manufacturers. I have looked at a lot of different companies to find one that had a large range of buildings suited to my project but only other company I could find that had a wide selection of high quality terrain charges way to much for postage to Australia.

For the some extra special buildings my other favorite range is Table Top World, they are probably the highest quality terrain range I have found but they don't have enough variety for an entire village yet, though they have had some more releases since I started the project. I am definitely looking forward to any more releases from them.

More terrain for the Adeptus Mechanicus Table.

Painted up an extra table and finished off some terrain to set up for an apocalypse game tomorrow. The idea is that the city walls are fitted with void shields that will protect the imperial defenders with the Tau and Human Auxiliary forces making a frontal attack on the city through the jungle as well as deep striking and infiltrating units through the war torn city.

Pretty much all of my Medieval Village has now arrived. I've got a lot of work to do before this is all painted to a standard that I am happy with but I thought I would set it out on a table to have a look at what sort of coverage I have so far.

The new Ziterdes Castle makes an awesome centerpiece.

That is an impressive village.
Seeing the size of the Ziterdes castle I finally understand the price point.

It turned out to be a lot bigger than I was expecting. You can fit 5x4 20mm base WHFB units in a couple of places inside the castle and 5x2 on most of the wall sections.

Nice collection, the Citardes castle looks great aswell as the Table Top World tower. You have a fantastic hobby room!
