    Resident Evil 6

Well, what do you think/hope the innovations will be? Which things do you hope that will be back (or not)?
    For my part:

    1) Gore: I was disappointed by the lack of it in the 5th one. There's no doubt it'll be classified as Mature/ PEGI18+, so there's no excuse why it should be assent. I mean, there's a reason why Don Salvador is well remembered and nobody recalls/cares about the guy with the chainsaw in RE5.

    2) More enemy variety: especially the bosses. In RE5 there were only the giant, Wesker and ... that black slimy thing aka Ouroboros (worst RE's virus EVER). Also, a variety of enemies with different abilities/weak point would somewhat compensate the (most likely) lack of puzzles.

Well it looks from the trailer that move and shoot might finally be in even if you can only move at walking pace when shooting. The cover system looks to be a lot better as well with Chris sliding behind barricades and hiding behind corners.

Just want to see proper Zombies again - that seems to be a given.
Proper claustrophobic indoor areas - I much prefer running around mansions, labs, police stations etc. to the big outdoor areas in 4 and 5.
Extremely limited ammo and first aid/herbs - ramps up the survival horror when you only have 3 bullets left and a room full of Zombies.
Minimal co-op - I don't want to have to look after Ashley or Sheva again (Seems I may not get this wish)
No quick time events they just cheapen the game as your guaranteed to die the first time they happen

    Re: Resident Evil 6

See, I come from a strange position. I really like Resident Evil 4, not least for the Evil Dead vibe I get from it (love those forests), but strongly dislike pretty much every other game in the series that I've played. What little I've seen of Resident Evil 6 in the trailer seems to indicate that it's very much fan service. That said, it'd be nice if they sorted out the inventory system and, as Dax said, get rid of or tone down the quick-time events.

Really though, Resident Evil has never been a great survival horror game - it's not very horrific and it's always been pretty camp. The gameplay footage from Resi6 seems to indicate that it'll be quite fast paced, so whether or not the 'zombies' will be lumbering numbskulls, suitably quick or just come in hordes remains to be seen.
I am currently looking to shift a sizeable amount of Chaos Space Marine models, including Dark Vengeance Cultists/Chosen/Helbrute/Lord, Fantasy Chaos Knights, a Dark Apostle, Fantasy (Finecast) Chaos Lord, Warp Talons, Possessed and painted models with Forge World parts. Send me a message if you're interested!

Give me a Resident Evil 2 remake.

And when I say remake, I mean just overhaul the graphics and keep the rest of it the same.

Ditto! I was trying to find a copy of it for PS1 a while back but never did (not suprised).

In a way, it is fan service as the original elements of the game were what made it so compelling. And it was survival horror... only having so many saves (not that I ever ran out admittedly) and very limited ammo made surviving a war of attrition a no-win situation. Adding the merchant and upgrades for every weapon and weapons with inf. ammo cheapened the experience. While I liked RE4 a bit, it was hard to call it an RE or survival game. I also agree that the quick time events were a cheap edition; I'd rather just have a long dialogue sequence lol

Ohh, I'd also love a remake of Resident Evil 2, though considering that RE4 and RE5 are the best selling games of the series it's (sadly) very unlikely . The remake of the first one for the Gamecube was amazing, though it was quite difficult (the hard more laughs at Dark Souls); shame that Capcom got lazy and didn't make a proper remake.

I like what I have seen in the trailer, but the graphics look very shabby and dated for a game in 2012 .
I hope they work on the engine for the PC version of the game.

Hmm, I actually liked RE4 a lot! Especially the Wii version. The controls were just perfect, and I loved the vibe that came with the game. Could've done without the ending areas though. In fact, the village was the coolest, the castle was alright and the last island was just mehh. But at least the game wasn't stale.

The new Racoon City title will be out first, this month? Or was it cancelled?

I think this looks really good, kind of back to basics (although I liked resi4 and 5 anyway).
Yeah, we flew our space church across 500 light years to get to this planet taken over by the orks. Now we're going to drop from orbit in buckets and run out and shoot pistols and hit people in the head with chainsaws. Ultramarines!

    Re: Resident Evil 6

So long as RE6 does something to erase the horror show that was RE5, I'll be a happy bunny.

My dislike of RE5 has little to do with the OTT bosses, lame voice acting, the lack of inventory space or the transparent plot (most of those are why I enjoyed RE as a series anyway), the story mode co-op play felt as though it was tacked on by the work experience guy towards the end of its development, especially since you had to partner with a bot on single player.

Going back to B.O.W zombies, Tyrants and basically enemies pre-RE4 would also be great. The whole parasitic Plagas thing didn't work for me to be honest.

    With regards,
    Dan.
