Getting back into the hobby. A Necron log

I've been collecting warhammer since my 11th, 9 years ago till about two years back. I stopped because of financial reasons and because I began to attend college.
ever since I longed to return to the hobby, I still read Black Library books and I kept thinking about starting anew.
then finally two weeks back I played a bit of Dark Crusade and I just knew that I had to start again, so well.. here I am, returning slow but purposeful.

First up was choosing a new army.
I'd been collecting space wolves from my very first days, and had quite a few armies along side that including nids, guard, chaos and daemon hunters.
    but I wanted something new.
I'm quite a techhead so I thought about AdMech. but after that game of Dark Crusade my choice was made, and so I choose the Necrontyr.

I hate standartised armies and almost never use basic colour schemes.
in my final days, two years ago, I was also becoming familiar with blending and non-metallic metal and I'm definetly gonna try that again
as for the colour scheme itself Im going for a complete haul-over of the basic scheme. Im going to exchange all the green for red/orange
as the guys from GW did in the codex with the sekemtar dynasty (pics coming soon of that one).

I also plan to build some of the vehicles that do not have a model yet, in particular the triarch stalker, and perhaps a fighter or two.

I've added pics of my first assemblies; A deathmark, a warrior and a scarab swarm.

I'll try to post regularly but I dont promise much since my study takes a lot of time.

    take care!

    Fondrin

This sound promising and I like your scarab swarm. I look forward to seeing these painted.

Ok first update time, I started painting on the first warrior. As I said, I wanted to use non metallic metal. Given that I havent painted for about a year I'm quite proud of what I did. I hope I get better at the technique as the project continues. Further updates will folow

Re: Getting back into the hobby. A Necron log

ok update #2 I finished my first warrior. I now started painting my first Sniper and Scarab Base. I also bought a HQ, namenly a command barge. I'm quite pleased with the latter, the thing is far bigger than I immagined and I cant wait to start painting it. However, I'm first gonna paint my warriors and sniper so I get some more experience on NMM(non-metallic metal) and painting in general again.

I also added some pictures of what I did:
