I saw the trailer for that elsewhere, and it looks completely unfunny to me.
Granted, I may not be the demographic they are shooting for.

Looper
"In the year 2042, a man working for a group of killers called "Loopers" (they work for the mob and kill people who are sent blindfolded back in time from the year 2072 by their bosses) recognizes a victim as himself. He hesitates resulting in the escape of his older self."

Never heard of the director. Stars Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I'm a bit ambivalent (anyone think Willis has made more than one good movie in the last decade?), but I tend to like time travel movies. Anyone seen that Bill and Ted one? That was funny.

Red and Sin City. Well, I thought so.
It's not the time travel, it's the particular use to which it's put in this film. For a start, if you ant to kill people by sending them pack in time, why not send them to the middle of the Pacific? or the top of Mount Etna? Also, you would think that they'd arrange to have a guy killed by another hitman.
Perhaps these issues are addressed - or perhaps they're not that important and I'm nitpicking - but those are the two things that will be nggling in the back of my mind if I see this film.
Maybe they can only send people in time, not in space*. Thus if they wanted people to end up on the top of Mount Etna, they'd have to be sent from the top of Mount Etna.
* OT: It really annoys me that when, in the media, people get transported in time, but remain in the same spot, they remain in the same spot relative to the Earth, and not to the universe as a whole. Realistically, when people get transported in time while staying in one place, they should end up in outer space and die, unless they were only transported a few seconds.

Well the director is the same director that made Brick, which was a very interesting modern film noir. I'm not sure if I enjoyed it, but it was worth watching. Same with his other films. Looper looks more of the same.

Meh! The two last "Grindhouse" ones were dull and this one will probably be so as well.
Here's a couple of unusual sci-fi ones:
Branded
Extraterrestrial
(no, not the one with Drew Barrymore)

I guess killing a bunch of human traffickers DOES have consequences. The trailer has at least two solid bitz of Quotable dialogue in it. Too bad the movie looks completely unnecessary.
@Avion- That Branded movie gave my Dark City crossed with They Live crossed with GhostBusters which was then thrown into a blended by Cronenburg to make the Trailer.

That Dredd is really neat. It's similar enough to the old movie that this movie feels really different. The faces are the same, but the streets, plots, and technology are all different.

Needs more Rob Schneiderdurpa durpa rated PG-13.
Seriously though, it looks OK. Karl Urban seems to fit the part, it's just that the helmet looks a bit too big for his head. Also, Lena Headey seems to have been to the Keira Knightly school of acting. I agree that it does indeed look like a cross between District 9 and Robocop![]()

Huh. I'm not sure what to think yet. However, It is good to see Lucy Lui in a movie again.

It will be another Sucker Punch, you mark my words.
Dredd looks alright. I'm getting the same vibe from that and the Total Recall reboot (and will probably get the same from the Robocop one too).
