News: Wargames Factory to produce 15mm WW2 plastic Infantry

Interesting development. Will their modelling process be a hinderance or a benefit in 15mm? Hopefully they aren't multi-part...

Interesting, it'll be intriguing to see how they compare with Plastic Soldier Company's 15mm stuff.

Bah, they should have made more Dark Ages things.

I'd imagine that these guys would be a breeze to paint though...

You know, given the popularity of FoW, this may have been a very smart direction to go.

Battlefront have really missed the boat on this. Given WF's usual low quality though I think I will stick with PSC; they could at least have made a kit that no one else has, like Americans.

Call me cynical but I think all this leaping from period to period without doing any sort of complete range for any of them is really going to hurt WF.

It’s going to be interest to see if they can complete with PSC but I doubt it.

    *EDIT*

I’ve just checked the link. Why on earth start with late war Germans, isn’t the market already a tad saturated with them?

Why not do a pack of plastic British or US infantry and get the drop on PSC who won’t be releasing theirs until later this year?

If the modelling market is anything to go by, germans sell. By orders of magnitude better than allies. Germans are sort of like the Space Marines of the historical world: people complain about how many German armies there are out there, and a few will swear up and down how they'll never collect them (and go for an obscure army, like Rumanians). But the reality may be, like SMs, those more obscure armies are financed by sales of Germans...

Given that WF is an American company (sort of) and that no one yet makes plastic americans it would be logical to start there.

They are still based in the US though aren't they?

I fail to see how where the company is based should have anything to do with what they produce.

Because its logical that they will want to produce what will sell in their home market i.e. American GIs.

They were bought out by someone Chinese but as far as I know they haven't relocated to China.

Indeed, their main HQ is in the midwest.

That is interesting to hear; I would have thought that US Infantry would have been the logical choice based on the fact that PSC already have Germans, Russians and Brits covered.

But would they? I'm not so sure about that, but can't prove it either way. I just believe that overall Germans are still more popular, so would be the better choice.

How much penetration has PSC had in the US market?
