    Re: March Releases

I'm loving the new Tyranid models, apart from the goofy looking Winged Tyrant. I can see many a conversion to Epic Heirodules and Heirophants using the Tyrannofex kit.
The Space Wolves kits continue to ruin what was once a great army. I feel that it's actually a shame to see the dreadful concept of Thunderwolves getting models thus cementing them in future codexes.
Still it's nice to see the classic models of the range getting the Finecast update. May well pick up Bjorn now, since it won't be quite the pain to put together in resin as it was in metal.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm happy for all the nids and SW players out there because this month is a really solid release but I'm more interested in the new paints and there's been precious little info aside from an ebay lot that may or may not have been real (see the thread in GW general, sorry I don't know how to post link on my bberry). Considering how big relaunch of the paint range could be GW has been very successful at keeping it under wraps less than a month from the release.

Tervigon looks really cool, do want. Tyrant I can make use of easily as I need to update my old 3rd edition model. What is with the hella expensive biovore model?

So it's a fait bet that he sculpted it with plastic in mind, even though the schedule at the time wouldn't allow it. Means he had a solid design base to bring the model on from and could use the extra time to design other kits. Which, when you think of the demands on his time[main designer for both eldar ranges, Nids, Marines and grand overseer of the plastics department], makes a lot of sense.
It's brilliant to think that the winged tyrant will sit so well beside my metal ones.
To be honest I think it's a shame they haven't done it more often, for instance with the deamons. I have absolutely no problem with straight transfers of good sculpts.

    Re: March Releases

Got a look in the white dwarf for next month in my local gw today, told them I'd already seen the images etc and they didn't mind showing it although the manager wasnt around. I can tell you all that the boneswords kit is not fine cast but the resin used to make the barriers and basing kits, and they are warrior sized. As for the 'plastic' wolf lord, he's in the fine cast section with a big fine cast label on it so no plastic there. Death leaper and biovore are the only other nids in fine cast, and all the old space wolves coming to fine cast are direct only. Also there's a fenrisian wolf with bionics in fine cast too. Nothing on paints at all. I think that was all.

Oh and australian prices are: $96 for tervigon/tyrannofex, $90 for tyrant. Didn't see actual prices for space wolf stuff but Bjorn is cheaper than the old metal one and so is the death leaper. Thunder wolves are same price as the khorne mounts is what the guys said.

Sorry if any of this has been posted, don't have time to search

    Cheers!

Not too thirlled about these characters...

The regular Thunderwolf and Terminator kits will probably make for cooler characters with a bit of your bitsbox mixed in than these dudes... And the regular kits are plastics...

Excellent, finally new versions of true 2nd ed Thousand Sons!!!

Thanks for the pics. Will have to order that kit now, just in case they don't bring out new TS like the one on the ground. I love that helmet design.

Thanks for the more detailed pics. Arjac was a model I really wanted to see. I like everything about him except for his hammer hand. I like that he is a leftie, and I love his armor and shield. I even like the relatively modest hammer, but the under-handed grip seems odd. Oh well, easy fix.

Cyberwolf and banner bearer look pretty good.

The Wolf Lord on TWC is pretty basic. Sadly, I love his armor, shield, and axe. Even his weird *** head.

Thanks mate but I'll probably just order them. Good old times, I can remember years ago I pushed for those heads in a Thousand sons mod for dawn of war and finally my dream has come true. This is better than christmas.

I can foresee a very expensive part in bit's box and the like until GW decides to follow suit (pun intended!)...
Warhammer Armies: Empire, Night Goblins, Dwarves, Daemons of Chaos
40K Armies: Chaos, Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Chaos Daemons, Tyranids, Tau
Epic Armies: Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Orks, Adeptus Titanicus.
    BFG Forces: Imperial Navy, Chaos.

    Re: March Releases

Hrrrrmmm. I wonder how close in scale the carnifex heads are to the tervigon/tyrannofex heads. After getting a better look I don't care for the 'fex head very much, either. Better than the terviderp, but not much. And I'll definitely be getting some of the warrior-scale swords and whips, those look very nice.

Edit: I take that back, looking at them I see how I can just make them from parts I have and a few minuted of carving some styrene. Not worth $20, in the end.

Too much plastic crack, not enough time or money.

Like how the plastic Plaguebearer head in the Grey Knight box led to plastic Plaguebearers?

    Re: March Releases

I was looking through the wolves and nids codices last night and I have to say that the Tervigon, Tyrannofex and Thunderwolf cavalry are the first models since Lelith Hesperax that look better than their artwork. Well done to GW! As previously stated, I can't wait to see what they've done with the necron 2nd wave and fingers crossed it arrives in April! Congrats to the nids and wolves players as they should be very pleased with what they now have (in my opinion! :P)

Cheers for those, I must admit I'm not overly keen of any of them except Arjac, who is excellent except for his hammer as already noted. The rest of the poses all look a bit weird, and the detailing on the Wolf Lord isn't quite right in my eyes.

Anyway, I'm still down for at least one box of that excellent looking Thunderwolf Cavalry.

Solid stuff for Nids, I have to admit that Tervigon will be the first Nid on my desk.

Special thanks to Kroothawk, cheers man!

Those Lash Whips and Boneswords are awesome! Now if only we had some nice Warrior sized wings to make Shrikes.

I guess I could use the plastic Gargoyle wings, but those are some expensive bits.
