    Re: Order Delays?

Have you been looking at the Spanish version of the AoW forum as well? Could possibly be something on there.

Otherwise, yeah it could be delayed again... Starting to turn into a bit of a pain. I know they were upgrading to be able to produce kits at a faster rate, but surely that means they should have atl east been producing some in the mean time.

Also remember Felix said that the June 4 estimate was meant to be conservative date so it wouldnt' need to be pushed again and they should really come out earlier. So I guess there may have been another delay we haven't heard about..

There doesn't appear to be any news on the Spanish version of the site.

Although, it was interesting to pop over to the Spanish forums for a visit! There is a lot more discussion in general.

Where AoW up to with these? Have they fulfilled the initial orders?

    Re: Order Delays?

As far as I know, all initial orders should be out by now. I think they are actually reworking the models so they will contain less bits but more different bits to make casting and assembling easier. The 'Nurgle' ones were recently previewed with the new bits design, should be out soonish, not sure when the 'Khorne' ones will come back (or even if they already are).

    Re: Order Delays?

they should have done so, cause i got mine two weeks ago, and i bought them 3 months ago.

The heads are stuck to the bodies, and the standard warrior was 2 pieces, head-body, legs and weapon.

They look really cool, may be the body is a little bit too small but it could be solved with some putty easily enough.

Hmm... 3 months catch up still

I was hoping they would at least come back in stock this year. Doesn't look like it.

    Re: Order Delays?

Since people are receiving the new kits, I'd say they are indeed back in stock. Whether they are currently keeping up with demand well enough or not though, I do not know. I'm pretty sure there have been people ordering them recently and getting them fairly quickly.

    Re: Order Delays?

The main problem is that they have only two casting machines, so when they release a new regiment, they have a peak of demand, and they have to produce a lot of the new product, so they have to neglect the rest of the line that is done with warcast.

I think that's why they have put out of production for a while the chaos warriors. "superb sculpts".

But we will have this new ones that looks really cool, and the next month the people that pledged in the indiegogo campaign would be able to ask for the iron shields and bronce shields.

So the machines will have a lot of work to do.

    Re: Order Delays?

Hopefully they will be able to get more machines with all the sales. They look like a serious company who is putting their bet on quality, i really hope they keep growing.

as it shows what thier current production capability for box sets are at the moment, you could say they are easilly getting 700-1000box orders per month, for still a small company thats great and that they are now investing in bigger facilities bodes well for the future and when they bring out more box sets
    700 a month

nobody seems to really post pics of these in hobby blogs

Well.. the ironshields have only been on the market for a few months... so they might have only sold ~3 or 4 times 700 units.
    Which is quite pittyful

But I have seen at least 5 or 6 different posts of people showing of their ironshields.

Afaik they stopped the production for many months because they realized the way they were created (billions of parts) was in no way a good idea.

    Re: Order Delays?

I think the great weapon ones are now available again, but thats it. They are slowly re-releasing them with less pieces to make them easier to assemble.

I have one of the original halberd kits, a big part of the reason I haven't posted photos yet is because they are so hard to assemble so I'm dragging my heals. Close to 45 minutes to get a model done except for head and base (leaving that for when I try to rank them up...). Really really nice looking models, but lots of work to put together. I guess the new kit designs will help that a lot when they start coming out again. AoW is a small company so they're struggling to meet any kind of demand for their stuff, which is the best kind of problem to have really. It will be good when they can get steady production happening.

I've built a whole box of these halberds by now. The bastards are a serious pain to rank up. Beautiful, but I can only get them to go together in one variation, and I've numbered the bottoms of the bases so I know how to arrange them. This is a big problem for Warthrone, because the rules require you to rearrange models in order to take advantage of different formations (i.e. a 5x3 squad behaves differently than a 3x5 squad). I can absolutely see why they would want to make the kits easier to assemble. It's an investment in their own game, rather than warhammer.

On the topic of order delays, I'm getting frustrated. It has been nearly ten weeks since they last made contact regarding the claiming of Dwarf campaign perks. It has been over two months since I replied asking to redeem some perks, and it has been exactly two months since they said they were shipped. Not a sign of the minis anywhere.

    Same here
They said that JOhanna, the person responsible for answering emails and stuff, has been ill for quite some time and they just aren't capable of doing much without her... with is some kind of bad excuse but it's not hard for me to accept it for a company like AoW

This thread getting activity again has inspired me to finish assembling my kit. For sure a large part of my problem was procrastination, which I am unfortunately very good at in every aspect of life, but the models were still taking me 30-45 minutes each to assemble properly, and thats without bases or heads as I was leaving them to last to help rank them up.

I don't know if giving much advice on my technique at this stage will be useful to anyone since the kit has been redone easier to assemble and I imagine everyone else has assembled them, but I definitely found a large part of the problem was only a few combinations of arms actually went well together. Figuring out the pair, and dry fitting the body, two arms, two hands all at once was rather difficult with only 2 hands of my own! But once I got the combinations worked out I actually have found them surprisingly easy to rank up, even with my rather large BSB in the front rank who never fit with GW warriors. I have yet to put the third rank on bases, but they will fit easily because I have assembled them holding the halberd upright in only 1 hand (seen to the side of the first photo). Hopefully these guys are still useful in the new WoC book... Haha.

The amount of detail on each model means they are going to take forever to paint.. Each is pretty much a character in detail level.

As to delays with the Dwarf campaign... That is a big shame. I didn't get in on that, but AoW problem really seems to be that there is much more demand than they can handle. Such nice sculpts but not really setup to sell in large amounts... They almost need a distributor/publisher to do that side of the business as it is really letting them down now.
Anyone else order very early on when it was just Felix and remember having to request a model via email form, then him manually sending a paypal invoice when he got to it, and finally posting himself in handwritten padded envelopes? Those were the days! It took 2 weeks before I could even submit payment for an order of an elf, let alone have it sent to me.
