For being "more of a gamer than a painter" your stuff is great. The force you've put together all looks clean, creative, and well put together.

I'd really like to see a shot of that Harbinger once you have it finished. I'll be lurking.

Thank you. The ghost ark is almost done. I just have to highlight the last half and apply some matte varnish. It should be completed tomorrow. Scratch building a kill team/Mortalis board has slowed down the army's progress.

I did order the last of my basing material. This will be my first painted army where I am basing the models after I paint them. Now that I think about it, I have no idea why the veil harbinger did not get painted since he's used for the immortals. I have no idea how to paint it either. Making his cloak red might be a bit much. We'll see.

After pulling out my remaining hair, one of three Ghost Arks are done. One huge disappointment would be the matte varnish. The same bottle I've used on all my armies and with the same water mixture, it decided to dry cloudy for the first time. I didn't have this problem on the immortals, annihilation barge or the first half of the ark. Not much I can do about it how. I did drybrush a little red over the larger cloud spots to cover it up. I also scratched part of the control panel gluing the final piece together. Necrons are definitely not for the beginning hobbyist!

The red and gold scheme is very eye catching.

Thank you everyone! I'm not sure what's coming up next. There is plenty of work to be done. I'm not sure if I want to paint a new unit or start cranking out duplicates of arks and barges. I know for sure though that the immortals are getting based as soon as my order arrives.

This is a bold, snappy army. I especially like the blue lighting effects - I would've thought that it would have clashed horrible with the red, but it looks fantastic. I love the Cairn Wraith conversion, that's a smart use of an out-of-army kit.

The rest of my basing material came in the mail this weekend. I had no idea how big the bags were so I ordered two of each size. Plenty to work with for only about $30 shipped!

I love these. Delightful work on them, Alsiaie. Very striking indeed.

The green bases look exceptionally striking under your red necs.

The ghost ark looks great, really crisp. You better start regrowing your hair so you can pull it out again on the next 5 ribcage vehicles

The crystals (I'm assuming they're crystals, at least) came out quite nicely to contrast the models, so good job with that. Plus it gives an extra effect because it reminds me of Necron environment for some reason.

Everything seems to be working out so far, too.

Thank you everyone! I will be attending a combat patrol tournament next weekend so I'm setting my league list aside to get a few things done. I will be bringing some warriors, immortals, deathmarks and a ghost ark. With the immortals and ark already completed, I have time to throw together a small display board while I finish the deathmarks and warriors for the tournament.

With regard to your cloudy clear coat - I've had that happen to a dreadnaught before. After it dried, I hit it with a second coat and it cleared right up. It might be worth a shot.

    Re: Red Death...Necrons

I am entering a 2000 point team tournament and a 400 point combat patrol tournament this weekend. Unfortunately I won't have 1000 points painted and ready for the first, but the CP list will be fully painted with display board.

The list is just for fun despite the tournament using the 2012 Adepticon CP rules. It's going to be a fistfight of tervigons and terminator units....
    5 Warriors
    Ghost Ark
    5 Deathmarks
    7 Immortals

Pretty basic display board that I'm working on. Roughly 12x12 size.

I painted up a unit of Death Marks to use for combat patrol games along with a small display board last week.

This is an excellent Necron army you are building. You have the OSL technique down pat. And the colors are superb!
