    Its more like 70% ...

... a good 20% is folks making silly comments about salt and calling the OP a liar.

In fairness I think its worse in the 40K section forum than here ...
    Its rough over there.

For a place where a lot of folks come for rumours it really doesn't do much to encourage folks with rumours to post.

Maybe rumors should be submitted to someone, and then only that someone is allowed to post? That'd sure cut on the crap...

I really am not buying this. GW worked really hard at making them look like wolves from outer-space. It just clashes with fantasy.

The space marine riding wolves are too 40k, I think only one can be built without cybernetics. But the fenris wolves are perfect for hobgoblins with no cybernetics on them at all. Those wolves are going to be popping up everywhere in fantasy armies fella.

Yup, I bought a set for our D&D game - they work fine as large fantasy wolves. And looks like they will rank up well on WH cavalry bases (although I did put mine on the large round bases they came with).

Sure for converters it's a wet dream, but GW has professional standards and wouldn't let fantasy be contaminated with alien wolves.

Whats alien about these? They are wolves, plain and simple.

Edit... these are the wolves most people are assuming that the hobgoblins are going to be riding as far as I know.

I imagine they'd just put the sprue in with hobgoblins. Perhaps GW will start making chaos dwarf stuff as part if an expansion at some point. Idk. I'm confused as to how this will work but I'm not gonna say its wrong.

Those aren't normal, natural wolves, look at their ears, the fur flowing from their jaws, their brows. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I love how GW managed to take a common earth mammal and subtly made it look extraterrestrial. But that feat at the same time means that they're totally unfit for fantasy.

If GW released those wolves for fantasy I would have said "wow, those are nice wolves." Not "wow, there's something extraterrestrial about those wolves and they really don't fit fantasy."

Yup, me too. Saw the models in person a couple of days ago and it looks almost as if they were designed to be suitable for riders. In fact, I reckon the current wolf riders might fit on with almost no modification. Co-incidence?

More to the point, do these look like "normal natural" boars?

You're kidding here right? You're not actually saying that it's a coincidence that wolf-riders can fit on wolf-like aliens.

The Chariot Lions have "unnatural" pointy ears too. I think they look more space-erific than the wolves. The wolves just look highly stylized which is a Trish thing more than a 40k or Fantasy thing.

The new wolves look a hell of a lot more like normal wolves than those boars look like normal boars. IMO obviously.

You appear to have missed the sentence before, where I said...

Saw the models in person a couple of days ago and it looks almost as if they were designed to be suitable for riders.
In case that's not clear enough, what I'm saying is that it looks very much as if the models were designed with riders in mind.

I truly don't see how GW is supposed to pose wolves without making them look suitable for riders.

Anyway, I'll accept that I'm the only one here who thinks these wolves are alien.

Re: Hobgoblins and Dogs of War

I tried squeesing a gobbo on there earlier and it does work perfecly. Abit of greenstuff is needed to make the saddle look good but the smoothened down fur on the mid-section makes for a perfect resting place. I have also heard rumors of FW doing Hobgoblin riders for "Already finished Wolves".

Re: Hobgoblins and Dogs of War

Hi guys you should see the new hobgoblins in 1-3 months the new dogs of war stuff 3-6 months the new goblins 6-9 months and the Wahala by the end of the year as a kick off to something much bigger.

I really don't mind the critics and I don't think I will ever be a source for rumours with that I will say thet you will all be very happy with how this year is going to play out and the new wolfs are made for ranking up and they look amassing ranked up and mounted.

And the thumb nails of the Wahala are crazy and I hope you all get to see them at open day.
