Love it! I hope the Salamanders get a big part...like a whole Battle Company. That would be awesome![]()
cool battle guys, the wave of semi-human filth being sacrificed for the greater..... well not good I guess....
Looking forward to the finaleish game![]()
Happiness is having an alibi and a big backyard to bury the bodies
Something of a public service announcement here.
This campaign will be wrapped up by the end of June, and we'll be making plans to do another.
What would really help is some feedback. What worked, what didn't. What I did right, what I messed up. Was the Garos Campaign's historical narrative style better, or this campaign's mysterious, character driven style? Help us make the next one better!
Already on my to do list is to stop making such long, run on sentences, and improve my camera work.

The Binding
Amadeus could not sit still. The spectre of imminent victory writhed within him and forced him to keep moving. He stood in between the five crystals, at their very centre. He’d replaced as many of the secondary crystals as he could. They had suffered degradation and risked ruining the ceremony, but he had no choice but to hope they held.
He was unashamedly naked, with the runes of channelling clearly marked on his skin, winding around his entire body. The ground itself continued these markings, radiating outwards in five spokes towards the crystals. Each crystal then continued the chain in different markings. One was covered with the rage filled runes of Khorne, written in ground bone meal. The next, covered in various viscera rumbled with the markings of grandfather Nurgle. The third was covered in narcotic perfumes, drawn into the sinful shapes of Slaanesh. By far the hardest to procure, the Tzeentchian runes on the fourth crystal were written with the pulped brains of Imperial psykers. The last proclaimed the glory of chaos undivided, written in pure daemonic ichor.
Arrayed around the scene where the remaining followers of Amadeus, a few Keldorian traitors and a throng of mutants and heretics. They were chanting the unholy words Amadeus needed for the ritual, punctuated by the odd howls of victory.
Amadeus held aloft his prize; the tesseract labyrinth containing a shard of a C’Tan known as the Beast. Focussing, he sent his psychic might flowing down the runes on his body, spreading outwards on the ground and into the crystals. Of course, Amadeus lacked the mechanism the Necrons used to unlock the C’Tan, and instead had to override the systems with the runes he had so painstakingly written.
The crystals began to glow, and a green halo formed over the box as it began to unlock. Amadeus almost lost focus as elation began to flood in, but this was now the hardest part. A creature of unfathomable power began to awaken. A creature of such scale that stars were its food, and humans nought but bacteria.
For a moment, he was lost in the face of the Beast. At this point, it would have been sealed within a Necrodermis, but Amadeus had no such equipment, and the star god began to flow, raw and untapped. The ground beneath his feet began to disintegrate, a whirling cloak of dust rising up in the Beast’s wake. His skin too began to flay, cell by cell, agonising. Amadeus roared, redoubling his efforts. The network of chaos runes glowed brightly and the C’Tan recoiled.
Outside of the fight, the gathered spectators cried out briefly in alarm as their bodies began to disintegrate, their blood flowing to join the ritual. In his desire, Amadeus willingly sacrificed every last man to further his goals. Their gestalt power flowed into him. With all the psychic power and death, the inevitable began to happen, and rents began to appear in warp space, as Daemons clawed their way in.
That was all a sideshow, as in the heart of the storm Amadeus wrestled with the Beast.
“With Khorne’s might, I shatter your form! With Tzeentch’s guile, I bind your fate! With Nurgle’s resilience, I endure your power! With Slaanesh’s allure, I subvert your will! By chaos, you are mine!”
Amadeus exploded into his constituent atoms.
But he was not done.
Energy pulsed down the ritual’s channels, focussed by his will. His atoms were joined by those of the air and ground, merging with the power of the warp. Together, they formed a kind of Necrodermis, sealing the C’Tan within. It raged as the ritual completed, bound to another.
Amadeus was reborn, as a hideous abomination, half daemon and half star god. He was joined by Daemons pouring through the holes he had punched in realspace. He flexed his new found strength, obliterating a clutch of Bloodletters in an instant. The Daemons gave little care for his unholy coronation, but responded to his strength.
He laughed, his unnatural voice carrying for miles.
He had won.
Now, to kill Sforza. Then, with his pride satisfied, he would remake this world in his image.

Oh dear... Sforza's going to have his hands full!
I've really enjoyed this campaign so far.
Who needs a life when there are video games? (And Warhammer)
Orks: 2000 points
Woohoo...I was right in guessing the merging of Necrons +with daemons (tho Amadeus technically isn't a daemon)!! Awesome stuff, keep it going!
Don't dismiss my anger as mindless fury.I assure you,it has a purpose!
That... is.... AWESOME! Great bit of writing there, you made a really visual scene and managed to keep the drama. I always sound like I'm gushing when I post on your battle reports but it's well earned on your part. On the whole I think the narrative style of your last campaign was better although this plot has been more interesting. For the next campaign the only thing I can suggest is perhaps more characters; having the two central prtoagonists and antogonists like Amadeus and Sforza is still the way to go but giving secondary characters (like space marine captains, dark eldar pirates, etc) a bit more depth would help to add more twists to the plot, especially if they have their own agendas.
Eagerly waiting the ending and shall be clamouring for a new campaign immediately!
Awesome image, cant wait for the next battle!

The Reckoning
Unknown to Amadeus, many miles away the remaining two crystals in Sforza’s possession went crazy. They glowed brightly, reverberating. Sforza’s pet psyker, Maximillian roared at the psychic feedback.
“Tell me something useful!” Sforza snarled, grabbing the man by the shoulder. “I have no time left to be gentle!”
“They’re…resonating with the other crystals. As they activate, I can see their true function. They send a form of radiation into warpspace, which weakens the barrier between the warp and reality. In this bizarre mismatch of the two worlds, the tessaract labyrinth unlocks.”
“C’Tan are anathema to the warp,” Sforza mused. “This method may exist to momentarily weaken it before it can be sealed within a Necrodermis.”
“The ritual is tainted, my Lord. I can sense the same warp energy necessary for binding daemons.”
Sforza’s eyes widened. “He plans to seal the C’Tan within a host body. Can you locate them? We must hurry.”
“It is quite simple, my lord.” Maximillian quickly grabbed a dataslate and entered the geographic coordinates. “It is lit up like the astronomicon. But there is one more thing. The crystals are weakening as their power is siphoned. Destroying them now may be no more difficult than destroying any appreciably tough vehicle.”
Sforza called up some meltagunners. The Cadian troopers eyed the crystals nervously, but after a brief time under the weapon’s power beams, the crystals began to wither and melt. Maximillian gasped as the psychic waves ended.
“My lord. Destroy the crystals first. They are jamming the tessaract labyrinth open. Once they are destroyed, shatter the host and the C’Tan will be banished once more. I sincerely hope. But know this; the boundary between the warp and realspace has been shattered, and daemons are pouring through.”
“Then there is no more reason to delay. We must strike now, while the threat is in one place. Get me Vulkan’s Hammer!”

After doing so well at the start of the campaign, I hope Sforza gets some neat little goodies to help him in the last battle.
