The bases are painted watered down calthan brown and then washed with devlan mud. It's incredibly easy! Just sand them first so the natural sand color comes through sometimes. The only free hand is the script, everything else are forge world transfers. Glad to see I'm getting better at putting them on! The rhinos/razorbacks are done and I'll post pics soon!

*Edit* Here are the new tanks pics! Sorry for the poor quality lighting...I shouldn't have taken them at sundown...maybe I'll take some more later.

    Rhino 1

    Rhino 2

Rhino 1 is hinged to open! I hinged the side pannels too but they kept breaking so I wound up just gluing them on...

Rhino 2 becomes a razorback! With either a twin heavy bolter...

Or a lascannon and twin plasma guns that I'm rather proud of.

It's got a painted interior as well...

    And finally a tail shot

    And a side shot

I already played a few games with them (two tonight!) and they greatly improve my tactical squads impact, due to increased reach, and they survivability. I'm so happy with them! They really are a must have for space marines! I might paint up a third one after the land speeders and sternguard which are up next.

Thanks for checking out my stuff!

    Re: Minotaurs!

I've been playing a lot of games recently with my Minotaurs and they have been a ton of fun! I might have to make another battle report soon. I decided to update my project goals. I removed the tactical squad that I will probably never paint, and am wondering if I should keep the devastators. After using what I currently have, I think I'd never play a game big enough were I'd want to use them. I have plenty of other anti tank options already. They are defiantly last on the list. I converted up some extra sternguard for versatility in the unit and so I can swap out my tactical sergeants for cheaper ones. I also decided to drop the terminatior chaplian. If I ever make a power spear armed terminator assault squad I'll bring him back though! I decided I will paint up some servitors so I can turn the foot Chronus into a techmarine when I play cityfight or feel like trying him out. I also converted up another captain when I was bored. He looks pretty sweet. I'm looking forward to painting him.

I did get around to painting a land speeder though! Here it is!

Next up are at least half the stern guard! Once again thanks for looking! Any comments or critiques are much appreciated.

    Re: Minotaurs!

I painted the first six sternguard and did a bunch of assembling. I had a lot of fun with these guys using older armour peices and trying for a combined tech-knight greco-roman space-crusader look. My favorite is the one with the respirator, based on the old 3rd ed codex cover art.

    Sternguard with Combi-meltas

oops...accidentally cropped out the one with the helmet off in this one.

The other four members in progress:

Ivanus Enkomi and the foot Chronus in progress:

The devastators are assembled, gonna paint these soon for those flakk missles! (anyone know if they get those for sure yet?)

I decided to take my extra sternguard and make them a command squad instead. Each of those plasmaguns in magnetized on so I can replace them with flamers or melta guns as needed. I also deciced I'd paint up my other drop pods so these guys can slam in with the sternguard and have squad Sulla back them up. Oh and my counts as Sicarius is in there too:

And finally the vanguard veterans, in need of some greco-roman style crests like the sternguard have, just haven't put them on yet. And the jump pack captain is there as well:

Thanks for checking out my toys guys!

There's some brilliant stuff here mate, good work.
I'm currently doing up my own Minos and I'm trying to figure out a scheme using the new citadel paints...

Glad you like them! Good luck with finding some paints that work, I'm glad I haven't had to reset all of my paints...hopefully you'll post yours on here and we can inspire each other back and forth huh?

So I've been pretty slack with painting lately, and not happy with my slowed progress I've decided to kick it up a notch! I'm going on a two week vacation to los angeles on Friday and I am forcing my self to make progress before I go. My goal was to finish the sternguard and paint the scouts before then, and I'm almost there already! Not bad for two days of painting!

    The other four sternguard:

The whole squad how they'll usualy be fielded, with the librarian in a drop pod:

Here are the almost finished scouts, still wet with Agrax Earthshade! Just need to paint the verdigris, wires, lights, and add decals and grass:

I got bored while painting, and tiered of failing my difficult terrain tests for my rhinos I added some dozers to them:

Thanks for looking everybody! Your comments and encouragement are much appreciated.

    Re: Minotaurs!

Finished the Scouts! Hit my goal early...early enough to go play my first game of 6th ed aginst my friend Mr. Seans necrons! I'll have to make a battle report later.

I ran out of purity seal so these got krylon artists matte finish. They turned out a bit glossier than others as a result, but it seems like this stuff does not produce that horrible "frosty" effect as easily as the purity seal does...might have to use it from now on!

Some side shots of the turned guys...

And some close ups of my favorites, the kneeling ones!

Sorry for the dim picture quality. I wish I had the cash for a better camera...but it's not like I'm trying to win awards or anything. Just wanna pump out as many decent models as I can!

    Very inspiring!
You made me save my old vanilas and convert them to Minotaurs.

Just sad to not see any new entry.

Good luck what ever you are doing now.

Love the verdigris effect. Nice. Can't help thinking the jet nozzles on the rear of Landspeeder need to be a Boltgun Metal colour or something, rather than Bronze... just my 2pence. Loving the transfers, nice touch the 'scroll roll' on rhino front. And the helmet crests, making these Minotaurs not Vanilla marines. Great work

    Re: Minotaurs!

There's some lovely stuff in here - apologies for not looking before! I do wonder if, as Siph says, some of your non-armour metallics could be painted with Boltgun Metal/Chainmail to break up the sea of brass, however. The same could apply to the skin tones, maybe - the dark flesh colours you've predominantly selected often merge with the armour.

The brass effect itself is really nice, though, and I love that Sternguard squad. Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
