    Replies to comment :

    @ DAGabriel : Thanks dude

@ Jackdaw : I'm glad you like my colour scheme. Your wips look promising

    @ Saulot : Thanks

    @ iamjack42 : I already answered your question but I'll repeat it here :

This conversion was inspired by another member on warseer, I think it's HiDeke.
@ colonel kane trine : Thank you for your interest. The red is quite simple here, I haven't worked on it very much, something I'll do later when I'll find the most suitable way of doing it for me. So the base colour is mechrite red + snakebite leather (2:1). Black lining with badad black and a touch of it on the bolts.

@ z4carlo : I'm happy you like my wood painting

@ Laborious : thanks man. I know the red armour look a bit bland, but I didn't want to chip and weather it, since what I did on my first black orcs doesn't convince me anymore. When I find a more suitable way of improving it, I'll finish it.

@ Loki73 : thanks. I hope to surprise you in the next months

@ doomscape : you could find the skin recipe in my log ...but I'll write it down here for you : gretchin green, devlan mud wash (a bit heavy, you can use gryphonn or ogrynn flesh for a bit of variety). Second wash only in the recesses. gretchin green first highlight. Gretchin green+ bleached bone second highlight.

@ emperor norton : thank you, I like it too

@ purplebeard : funny you say that about the banner and the red armour. These parts are not quite finished, but they will do for now and thr ToFP until I find an idea to complete them.

@ Gargobot : expect more cartoony orcs in the future (as in metal figures from before 2000), but not in the near future. You can have a taste of things to come in my plog (bis)

    New comment :

@ Kaltheras : love those old chaos warriors, and your painting surely did them justice !

So now its almost the end of the month, are you guys on time or late? Personally, I'm good, I finished my march entry some time ago but it didn't round up to 100 pts, so I decided to add 2 more models to reach 104 pts !! Yeah! For those who read my plog (ter) you should already know what I'm presenting this month, but now there are two mystery models to wait for (not that they are mind blowing). And no, it's not the wyvern (104 pts I told you )

Ok, so some additional comments for people I missed:

Saulot - it might only be 3 guys, but they are looking good. Looking forward to seeing more of your Brets.
Confessor Atol - very nice work, love that check pattern on the sword
Perplexti - your Dwares are coming along nicely, personally I'd add a black wash to the metal but thats just me. The skink shaman is great, the cloak is a nice splash of colour
Grhino - very nice looking TKs, the Ushabti look especially impressive
Malorian - great work on those classic monsters, real blast from the past seeing them again
Kaltheras - gotta same the same as Malorian - great to see those old minis getting some love.

Huge thanks to everyone who's commented my entries, your kind words really help keep the enthusiasm going. It's great to know that my own personal take on the Druchii and the conversions and painting style I have are hitting the spot with everyone out there - you guys are ace

In terms of my WiP for March, I'm actually a few days ahead of schedule, which is nice. Admittedly my entries consist of my BsB and a monster but shush. Hiroth Arkitaine, the BsB, was completed earlier on this month - if you can't wait for next months thread, he and his fluff are up in all their glory on my plog already. I'm just waiting for the last bit of basing on my Hydra proxy to dry before hitting the varnish and getting the fluff done, but here's a little sneak preview of the Fegharion and it's Karcist....

    Cheers everyone

Re: The Tale of Fantasy Painters 2011-2012: Month 6 (Feb painting and Mar WIP

    ...hello, somebody still here?

I was mightily busy this month, but at last I managed to find some time to finish something! Unfortunately it is a model which will rarely see use on the battlefield, but I like the conversion nevertheless! (And no, I didn't paint the Firebelly - it still scares me!)

Army: The Stormbreaker Tribe [2000 Points Ogre Kingdoms]

Unit: Beastkiller Harak the Pig-Poker & his pack of Ice Boars

Build/Conversion: Harak was made using a Ogre Bull body, the hunter parts from the SH/TT kit, the spare Harpoon Launcher from the same kit and arrows from the Savage Orcs box. The Ice Boars were not converted, but build straight out of the Savage Boar Boyz box.

Still to do: Nothing. Until I spot anything, that is!

Highs: I'm happy that I got them done. Plus I really like both the Hunter conversion and the Boars themselves. They will be used as Sabretusks.

Lows: None, actually. Besides taking forever to find some time to paint anything...

Points: 160 (Hunter with Harpoon Launcher and Big Name: Beastkiller) + 105 (5 Ice Boars, to be used as Sabretusks) = 265
Together with the 1548 from the last months that makes a total of 1813!

    Dice roll: 2

Next month: I think I'll start on the Maneaters. Dunno which one(s) yet!

    Actual Pictures:

    Harak himself:

    The Ice Boars:

And finally the full Hunting Pack:

See you soon, I hope I'll post earlier in April! Some comments will be posted later if possible.

Morkash, that hunter's wonderful! And I love the use of boars - the sabertusk models never really did it for me, they look a little too weedy. If you don't mind I think I'll paint up my hunter's skin similarly (he's riding a stonehorn) and call him Harak's cousin. I'll have to come up with a good name for him. Looking forward to next month from you mate!

Wow, thanks Doomscape! I think you're the first person calling one of my miniatures wonderful! Of course paint your hunter similarly, I'm flattered.

Does someone know when Malorian is going to make the march ToFP thread or why he hasn't done it yet?
