Oof! robscott, I hope you get through this without permanent damage. Sounds like pretty brutal stuff! Look forward to seeing what you've managed to finish. If painting still feels good to you, I hope you'll stick to the Tale, and you've got our support all the way!
Thanks guys for very nice comments!
@Sk1ndred: Nice MoM monsters there! You're getting through that stuff fast!

@EmperorNorton: Your SDE mini's are great and i'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the Kobolds.
@Daemonslave: Superb work on the Space Hulk minis. Basing them properlywas a superb idea.
@Steevn: First time I have seen those modesl, but they are painted fantastically.
@iamjack42: Superb work. I loved and still love that game and its great to see it getting some superb attention. Also get well soon!
@DAGabriel: Even though they are brightly coloured, you have managed to achieve a grimdark look to them and it has really worked.
@Solun Decius: Your SDR look so cool. You have got the colour scheme down to a fine thing on them. Also looking forward to the progress on the Manisons Of Madness expansion.
@Tzarinchilla: BOO! ARGHHHH!
@lorelorn: Nice work on the Talisman minis. they look great.
@Sk1ndred: They look great, really nice job especially loving the blood effect on the manics. Be interesting to see how you are going to tackle basing them.

A question if I may - I'm really getting fed up with painting the same thing over and over (Genestealers and Blood Angels) it's a bit soul destroying. :-(. Would I be allowed to do a Space Hulk batch every other month (after submitting next months quota) and Warhammer Quest in between (which is an awesome board game too)?
If yes, I'll even let you guys pick who I paint (1 character and 1 unit) from
Characters;
Elf (started)

Hi guys,
I'm a bit late with my contribution but here it goes. First comments:
HereBeDragons
The rocks look very realistic and the detail on the metal ship is awesome!
Daemonslave
I love the smooth highlighting you got going on the genestealers and the weathering on the termies is wonderfull too. That radar thingy the terminator is holding in his hand is awesome with the lighting effect.
Congratulations on finishing the first squad!
EmperorNorton
Nice start, the picture is a little too zoomed out to say something about the paintjob other than that from a distance it looks good!
steevn
Nice paintjob on your models. I particularly like the big sword the red guy is holding.
iamjack42
These models are also in my collection (unpainted) and I must say, they look far better when painted! You really bring the game to life, as I've said before. That dwarf is so cool.
DAGabriel
Awesome!
Solun Decius
I'm not familiar with the game or models, but they look great allready, despite the fact that you say they are not finished yet. Looking forward to the end result.
Tzarinchilla
Wonderfull start!
The ghostship looks amazing, the sea underneath dark and scary.
lorelorn
It looks good allready. Are you going to do any further shading on the faces?
Sk1ndred
Your models look gross, great paintjob!
Now we go back in time to Space hulk first edition... In mission six: the unknown lifeforms from the Deathwing expansion, the marines have access to powerfield generators. A powerfield generator is a small device that generates an invisible force shield. It is used for sealing hull breaches in emergency situations, or can be used to delay enemies by blocking off corrdors. It takes genestealers 18 action-points to destroy the generator.
I've made 20 of them, 5 for each marine chapter that I'm going to paint (of which Space Wolves and Imperial Fists are allready done). I placed transparant plastic that I cut to the size of a door on small bases. This didn't give the look I wanted, so I tried to paint some reflection on the supposed force field.

@Daemonslave: Feel free to alternate the two games. If you're posting each month, you're in the tale, even if it's different games. There really are no proper rules to speak of here anyway
Month just about over. Looking forward to seeing the results in next month's thread in a couple of days.

Nice stuff!
My brother and I are getting interested in Dungeon Crawl board games as a way to get some more miniature play time, especially when meeting friends in the weekend. Could any helpful board gamer here tell me what they think of Dwarf King's Hold? Preferrably Dead Rising and the expansion set Ancient Grudge. How long time do games tend to take? Are there many different scenarios in the boxes, and maybe also fan-made scenarios available as free downloads on the net? Can you play with monsters (ogre-sized) of any sort? Is it fun to play multiplayer games of 3-4 players? Can you recommend another board game or fan-made add-on rules for Dwarf King's Hold? Are there profiles for other creatures than those in the box?
I have a Dreadfleet box that I will savour until later, but in the meanwhile some dungeon crawl board gaming would be fun to test. At the current, we have not enough time for roleplaying games or Warhammer battles of proper size. We also have too little finished Warhammer stuff, but would like to paint small bunches of miniatures for our armies as a side project aimed at getting bands of dungeon adventurers and villains.
Thanks in advance for any help, and I hope this is not the wrong place to ask for it.![]()
OK, sorry about the delay in this month's thread. I was in New York, then preparing my sons birthday, then just plain lazy!
It's up now, right here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337885
@Karak Norn Clansman: You're welcome to ask here, but I myself haven't tried The Dwarf King's Hold. I think Robert was going to paint the Dwarf King's Hold and an expansion as well, but he never got properly started, so I don't know if he's still reading the thread. For gameplay reviews I'd always recommend the game's page on boardgamegeek.com. For DKH: Dead Rising it's here: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/9...ld-dead-rising
here are a couple of reviews:
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/6581...-kings-hold-de
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/6372...er-three-plays
but you can find more reviews by scrolling down to the "forums" part of the page and clicking "reviews".
As for painting the minis, you guys are welcome to post your stuff here, or in one of the later month's threads.
Alright, let's get over to that new thread and see what we've got painted up last month!

Okay, here's what I got:
The heroes from Super Dungeon Explore!
Which I have since ruined with varnish. Well, a little at least.
Next up were supposed to be some kobolds, but for those I need some paints from Army Painter, which they have announced will be released later. So probably I'll do the chests and spawning points first.
