Thread: Mangler Squig moving through a combat

Re: Mangler Squig moving through a combat

    Is like this:

If Manglers touch a unit, that unit gets 2d6 hits, if there are characters then we need to see if they get a chance to be hit, and this only happens once all troops have gotten a hit. lets say a unit of 5 rank and file knights, a champion, a lord and a wizard, the mangler moves and touch the unit and does 7 hits, so 5 are alocated in the rank and file troops, and the other 2 are ramdomized betwen the champion, the lord and the wizard, to a maximun of 1 hit to each, if the mangled had roll 9 hits, then 1 hit to each model and an extra hit to a rank and file, if there were only 4 knights a champ a lord and a wizard and the unit gets 8 hits then 1 hit each model and randomize the extra hits.

If the manglers hits a 1 or more units in close combat then the mangler does 2d6 to each unit it touches in its path.

I think this is how this works.

If your have 5+ R&F troopers still in the unit ALL hits will be allocated to R&F. You only allocate to characters if at the begining there are less than 5 R&F. Say you have 4 plus the 3 stated above. Each trooper would take a hit and then the champ, wizard, and character. Rinse and repeat if more hits.

You never randomize which model in a unit is hit in this edition (unless the unit has special rules saying otherwise, such as giant rats). In all normal units, the owning player distributes excess hits as he likes.

True, but when abnormal units are used such as giant rats, squig herds, or even mounted characters then hits are distributed in the same fashion as if the unit was shot. This does prevent someone with a mangler squig from allocating all the hits inflicted on the squishy mage riding on the tough dragon, he has to roll those hits as normal for missile fire.
