Thread: Andy T's WHQ Dungeon

    Re: Andy T's WHQ Dungeon

I think trying to fray it some should do the trick, but it is a great choice of material for the detail.

Overall looking very good from your initial grey work.. the mossy, dank nature of a dungeon is really coming through now.

    Looking good.
The cork tile is very effective and a good bit cheaper than moulded plaster.

Yes - agree - and probably much faster build process as well

Your builds are coming along very nicely Andy and the use of cork is a good idea and provides you with a lot of build flexibility. Cheers Eboli.

    Other than the obvious.

My suggestion would be buy more wine and save the corks.

Good suggestion on the wine! I am actually thinking of starting another thread on 'budget/junk terrain'. Loved the old WD articles where they showed you how to make something out of a cereal packet and a toothpaste lid etc.

If you let too many girls into the dungeon, you won't be able to see your friends as much anymore, you will have to watch Glee instead of the footy and you will be wearing Pink polos instead of your black metellica t-shirt.

    Just saying

    Great idea for a thread.
Talking of budget ... have you seen the new Reaper BONES line of minis. Great minis at a fantastic price.
I ordered mine up from Miniature Heroes ... Got a big ogre, a troll, a werewolf and a giant Purple worm all for a couple of quid each.

Yeah the bones range looks good- planning on buying exactly what you did actually! Unfortunately Leisure games didn't have them in stock- is miniature heroes an online store?

Much simpler than my other ones, but a helluva lot quicker to make! (Will add detail from my bits box)

Always liked the concept of alternate archways and access pieces; something hopefully I get time to explore as I paint away merrily. Very interested in your results as you build more arch ways with these parts.

Doors are not something I've put too much thought into yet but I think just as much character can be put into them as a full-blown custom room. I suppose what I am trying to get at is thanks for the food for thought!

The cork pillars are looking great! If you wanted to you could always stack up some spare ones to make freestanding pillars for your rooms to block line of sight etc.
