Last march of the Ents, 750 points SBG

Ok so LoTR SBG is just getting going in our club and it looks like 750pts will be the norm for pick up games. I play Isenguard but, maybe I'm old fashioned, I like to play good versus evil. So I have decided to run Ents for my Good Army. So any advice on how to madge this work, work better will be helpful.

2 great eagles
+ 20 spare points, I'm think 2 woese warriors, they hide the while game.

So only 3 might, but D8 across the board, F7-8, fast moving, terror causing this army will be used almost exclusively versus evil armies.

So what do you think

If this is a realistic seige of isengard to the films, stick with ents. Also you should be using the new SBG system, if not I suppose you don't like it so much.

Yes this is a point buy list using the new book, its not just the attack on Isenguard. With just ents its not possible to get near the correct number of points. Also the eagles should help if someone happens to have a war machine

I see. Tbh honest there shouldn't be any warmachines or any uruk hai for that matter if it's a army designed for a single scenerio only. To be honest its only orks and possibly saruman your facing...

Lol... I haven't had the priviledge of seeing Ents in action in the SBG. I'm cautious about them in WotR as there are several spells and effects that hurt them quite badly. It also seems to me they would be prone to being overwhelmed by larger number forces.

I can probably comment a bit more later in the week. I'll be picking up the new Free Peoples book on Friday.

This might be a bit outdated but here are my experiences with ents.
-they can usually pick their fights due to terror but be careful of the fury spell
-immobilize can really hurt ents because it makes them as effective in combat as a drunk hobbit
-def8 is great so you shouln'n be too to worried about taking wounds
-they can easily clobber trolls, but be carefull of troll cpt's and if there is two trolls fighting one ent
-if you're playing against a new opponent they will probably not expect an army of monsters especially from the good side

you could have merry or pipin instead of the woese warriors i dont know how many points they are thought

So I have played 5 games with this list. All decisive victories. I decided to just ignore the spare 20 points as the woes simply offers the enemy easy kills for no real benefit. However after reading several of the scenerios I think 2 or 3 of them will be nearly impossible to win with this list.
