My first Good and Evil SBG 500 point army lists - Dwarves and Mordor

LotR or WotR army list: LotR

Hey Guys,

I'm going to try out SBG with the release of the new books, and the impending hobbit release. I had some dwarves kicking around, which I've been painting up recently (I'll add them to my plog at some point) and thought I'd start with an army of these guys. The aim with this army is the produce a force that is inexpensive, with a few interesting troop choices. Hopefully it doesn't suck! I'd appreciate comments and tips on how to use it, having never played LOTR before!

Secondly, I'm contemplating building an evil force as my Dwarven rivals. I have an idea to make a Force of Barad Dur. There are a lot of cool options in the Mordor book, and this is my first stab at a list. I have none of this, so feel free to be brutal!

My rough idea is to create a high courage (6!) evil army, which can handle heros very nicely using the KoU for fights and the Wraith for emergency transfixing. Any hope of working?

use gimli to kill captains so floi will get more will
flank with gim's war band
hold the line with the cpt
use your strong bows and throwing weapons to thin the enemy
fight on your terms and only engage shield/pike walls if you have to and try to get flanks with gim's warband.

I would drop gimli/captain and go with balin/shieldbearer( free heroic combats will help you break the flank ) to bolster your numbers. Just be sure to pair up the shieldbearer with some iron guard.

For the evil I would drop the named nazgul and just pick up another generic nazgul or the mouth of sauron, evil needs to have bigger numbers and the two spell casters will make your opponent sweat, use the castellan as a minor hero hunter along with one of the nazgul. You can use the castellan ( they are tanks, especially with the use of will as fate) or get more black guard(drop BN's) and add shields to the orcs with spears. Don't be afraid to throw the trackers into combat when they can not shoot, just pair them up with a BG or BN.

i think that the dwarves dont have enought warriors all you mainly have are archers heros and captins

If your going to have Khazad guard I would put them ALL in 1 warband. Then during a game find the biggest badest thing on the field and charge it with your Khazad guard!
