Thread: Which GW / Citadel Miniatures fetch the best price on ebay?

Re: Which GW / Citadel Miniatures fetch the best price on ebay?

@Winterdyne Yes there is a few Gamesday minis that sell for silly money but then they are limited minis again. I am trying to focus on the regular stuff.

Possibly the one that sells for the most is the Racing Nob. £80 approx.

Epic Greater Daemons approx £8-9 each (obseved average inc BINs) - Primarchs a similar ammount, maybe slightly higher.

    Slaves to Darkness - £40-50
Lost and the Damned - £50-60
    Thanks.
£8-9 is a lot for such a small bit of metal.

    Things I've seen:
Epic Chaos Tzeetch Daemon engines go for £20 a detachment.
Epic boxes of infantry from the 90's typically go for £20 if on sprue (they sold for £5 each!)

And a friend of mine sold these (I was quite upset as at the time I didn't have the money to buy them, or I would have got them!)
Titan Legions (1st Edition set in the Heresy) box set: £50
    Mighty Empires (original): £60

Edit: Oh, and typo in space crusade in your list Harry.
Warhammer Armies: Empire, Night Goblins, Dwarves, Daemons of Chaos
40K Armies: Chaos, Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Chaos Daemons, Tyranids, Tau
Epic Armies: Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Orks, Adeptus Titanicus.
    BFG Forces: Imperial Navy, Chaos.
    See them all here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...-of-everything

The Epic terrain from Forgeworld consistently sells for very high prices, particularly the Cathedral. I saw one with bids on for over £200 last month. Goodness knows what it finally sold for.

Heh, I got mine opened but in mint condition for just £10. I bet it won't happen again.

Thanks I have added that in.
I have so much Epic stuff I have made a new section in the first post.
Is there any Epic stuff that does not go for silly money?

Yes that stuff goes for good big bucks but I am trying not to get into Forgeworld stuff as it all sells for big bucks.
Although not quite as much as that cathedral cost!

Basic SM's, Orks, Eldar Guardians. Everything else is nuts. Probably should add Tyranids - they go for (litterally) their weight in gold. Like this - 6 days left to go. There is another identical sprue going for the same price as well... To put it into perspective, (with delivery) so far, for 7 bases of epic troops it is £11.50 - or £1.64 for a single base of models. In NetEpic, 5 sprues would get you a force of 950pts - a game of Net Epic is around 4-6,000pts a side...

This sounds like a thread made by someone who just finished his Time Machine...

There was a time when the Necromunda Escher with plasma gun and Mad Donna were selling for around $50 - now they seem settled around $30-35 for the plasma gunner, $35-40 for Mad Donna. Pretty high considering they were generally available for a long time.

The Spyrer hunter Matriarch and Patriarch are also pretty rare. I'm not sure what they sell for because It's been a long time since I've see any!

and to think folks used to play Epic so they could field a big force .... it wouldn't cost much more in 28mm.

Do let me know about the nids.

Don't fully understand the time machine line?

I shall add those to my list ... any reason those two are more expensive than the others?

Haha - Well it just reads like you're assembling the top 10 list of things to do if a gamer built a time Machine:
    - Buy a bunch of Black Lotus's & boxes of Arabian Nights
    - Buy Superman, Xmen, Spiderman #1
    - Buy the following GW miniatures back when they were cheap...

Re: Necromunda - The Escher girls are expensive for a lot of reasons - very nice models that aren't in production any more. And very useful in-game. I don't think it's anything more than that really - just everyone wants one (or more) for conversions and they won't/don't/can't make them anymore.

The Matriarch and Patriarch fall under that umbrella of miniatures made by Specialist games after GW dropped Necromunda completely. They existed for a very short time and then the molds degraded. There are a few others that fall in this category - the Eldar one that was mentioned, as well as a Van-Saar gang I believe.

Warmonger.... can go for silly prices - I the last one I saw went for well over £100 at auction, not BIN.

    EDIT - here it is - nearly £200 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1507581197...84.m1423.l2649

It is a glorious thing though...
You know what's weird about the Epic Warmonger and Imperator Titans? Just five years ago or so they were selling in the US $100 range. I know because I was getting into Epic at the time and looking at picking one up. REALLY wish I had bought one then!!! A buy at my FLGS recently bought an Imperator NIB for nearly $500 USD!!

Any idea what has caused the massive spike in price on these items?

So much stuff I wish I had bought.

My guess is with lots of this stuff it is stuff that was expensive to begin with so not many could afford it and now the boys have grown up to be men and have a bit more cash and want to buy the toys they wanted as boys but couldn't afford.

Supply and demand ... more people wanting them ... harder to come by ...

Ah, I see. I think I found the answer to my question.

I thought that these titans were long out of print, but apparently they were produced in 2000. So, by the time I was looking at buying one in 2007, they weren't all that rare yet. Now, 12 years on, they are getting harder and harder to find, I suppose.

But $500 for an Epic titan?! You can get a 28mm scale one for just a little more! No way.

I saw 6 Necromunda ash wastes nomads sell for £80 about two or three weeks ago.

We should petition GW... limited releases of oop archive stuff. NOT because it would make them lots of money but because If they started producing warmonger titans again, tons of people with too much money would simultaneously start crying.

I've seen the oop Nurgle Palanquin sell for £50, it made me think long and hard about selling mine but I decided to keep it.
