Thread: Which GW / Citadel Miniatures fetch the best price on ebay?

Be aware that on some of the EPIC items there are a few sellers that are re-casting or seeming to shill bid to drive prices up. Some of the FW terrain is classic territory for this, as well as things like the Warmonger Titans. Plus you have sellers splitting up items like the Warmonger and then selling the individual pieces at inflated prices (£300+ for the complete titan)

Its probably not in the realms of massive money, but I saw some Metal Eldar Aspect Warriors going for £40-£50 a box.

Any epic scale tyranids, chaos and squats go for good money, necromunda ash waste nomads and certain models oop original models, plus most escher are gold dust, and anything from 4th ed fantasy chaos dwarf range (and we all know which ebay seller is almost single handedly responsible for the chaos dwarf inflation.... ).

Edit: warhammer quest is astounding too. Keeping my imperial noble set.

I eBay'd my Space Crusade - Mission Dreadnought Expansion 18 months ago. Got £40 for it. I haven't seen one go for over £50 (yet).

I am looking at putting some Epic stuff on Ebay soon. Will be interesting to see how much it fetches.

There is a Shrinkwrapped box of Blood Bowl at my FLGS for $140 AUD. Worth my buying and putting up on ebay?

If you could let us know when this is happening (preferably with links ) it would be most appreciated...

As an owner of half a dozen epic armies those prices quoted are very much above the norm, at the moment there is an ebay reseller (with 7 different usernames) heavily targetting epic on ebay. His MO is hoovering up all OOP+collections and then reselling them via BIN listings at huge prices, to try and set a high value for these pieces. The same BIN get recycled again and again until somebody bites. For example epic harridans have been available on ebay for years at approx £10, I wanted to buy one the other day and 8 were on sale, all by this reseller, all at £30+

    Truly valuable epic items
    - PsyTitan - £200
    - unreleased Imperial dropship - £300
    - unreleased Eldar X range - £40 each
    - hellebore - £60

Then you have nid+sqaut plastic sprues which are generally at £5 a sprue, squat metals - anything from £6 for 3 goliaths to £50 for a Land train. Bar FW not a lot else truly sells for much more than £20 for titans or a few £ each for metal vehicles or sprues

Don't let the BIN prices on ebay skew the figures on what the majority of people are actually paying

I once sold a MIB Sgt. Centurius for 120 Euro on ebay. Out of the blister he's not worth that much because of the recasts floating around.

Funny - after saying I never see a Necromunda Spyrer Matiarch or Patriarch, two show up on Ebay.

The Patriarch sold for $63 (40 pounds) for an assembled & rough painted mini:

Strange observation here: people tend to pay only for chaos marines when listing includes bundle of miniatures from Chaos Horde box.
It's not obvious with sealed box, but it works well for loose miniatures. E.g. if auction lot consists of two CH boxes, most miniatures are off sprues, but half of space marines is missing - the final price will be £40 - 50. Also a new unused complete sprue tend to cost £10-15, while a sprue with all 10 marines with only beastmen@troll @*insert any free stuff here* missing costs aprox £10. So beasmen, minotaurs, juggernauts are better to be listed seperately for £10 per huge pile, while ... ahem .... epic scale chaos space marines are £1 per miniature, no matter on sprue or loose.

You overestimate the cost of these by a considerable ammount . That is about average for chaos space marines at auction. Minos/trolls go for £2-3 for 10 stands as do steeds of slaneesh and juggers

Too much math. Probably I'm a wishful thinker.

So £15 per sprue is the upper limit?

There are a couple of BINs at the £10 a sprue mark (they probably will not sell) - for a 5 sprue box you may get up to £20-25 at auction. As a general rule you have, in increasing value - SMs/Orks/Eldar as the cheapest/most commonly produced Epic minis, then Chaos (Marines + Daemons) then a toss up between Imperial guard and Squats - IG infantry goes for a bomb still for some reason (despite being relatively ok new from GW), and finally tyranids - the most expensive by a long way.

Re: Which GW / Citadel Miniatures fetch the best price on ebay?

Along with BigRob, I'm another dezein from the depths of the WHQ section, and I have to point out a couple of things:

    1. Quest models only tend to SELL for around £5-20. Some are more expensive than others (Witchhunter regularly goes for £15, while chaos warrior is around £5-8). The knight is harder to come by so I imagine he'd be at the upper limits, but if you search for Warhammer Quest on eBay, you can find almost any quest character you want as long as you are willing to spend the £40-60 Buy It Now price (some stuff has been on there for literally months, well before Christmas, and just doesn't sell, yet they never reduce the price)

    2. I have seen several 99-100% complete boxes of WHQ go for over £150 (always the ones I am watching!). I know someone who got pretty near to complete sets for £85, but I have seen 2 in the last year go for just under or above £200. By this I mean actually sold of course, not Buy It Now.

Remember, every price I just quoted was without P&P added on...

The old Citadel Traveling Players, while not in the league as most of the figures listed above, tend to go in the $15 to $25 range (£10 to £18).

Of newer figures, the Mordheim Sigmarite auger often goes for $15+ these days - I have seen them go for as much as $25.

Re: Which GW / Citadel Miniatures fetch the best price on ebay?

Maybe in the US - but I've never seen them sell for anything like that in the UK - if you can get them listed for free have a go at that price - I honestly wish you the best of luck, but I am doubtful they will sell. Saying that, a complete "mint" sprue will generally always sell for higher than any other type of listing.

EDIT: These would have cost the buyers of that US listing less shipped from the UK, but no takers after several days.
