One of my final units for Mariners Blight…a squad of pre-heresy style Jetbikers.

These guys use Kromlech's Iron Shark Bike kit with some minor modifications (Tow Hooks). The riders were made just like my other blight infantry with the exception of the legs. They were regular Marine biker legs that I modified to look more like MKII Armour.

The bases I made from a combination of Secret Weapon Miniatures Bone Fields bases and regular calvary bases. I imbedded the SWM bases at both ends then filled the middle with pumice paste and assorted earthly remains.

nice bikers! the jetbikes look like they could have been used underwater so they fit really well.

Couldnt find any mention here or on your blog - where are the hatches for your tanks from?

    Thanks Charax!

The side hatches on the rhinos I made from assorted bits and cast them. The top hatches were regular CSM tank hatches with an added Valve wheels from a platformer terrain kit.

Damn it, I really liked those side hatches, only ones I've found are quite plain

I and them from 40mm bases, like the ones used by privateer press with the round edge, not beveled like GW, and some Ork pieces from the top of a KillaKan. The lights and any extra details came of Mechanicum wall pieces from the terrain kit. You could build your own in a similar fashion.

This log's fantastic. This is one of the most unique and atmospheric armies I've ever seen and the execution is absolutely brilliant.

mini subs are definitely something you have to do. Call them flying rhinos. Something like those in the Abyss. Especially the big mini sub from the movie, with the flatbed top. That'd look ace as a way to transport your minis

Stunning conversions - great concept, with an even better execution. Really impressed by the "cracked" painting techniques, i've never seen that done in a whole army before, and will make from some exceptional looking models.

Kudos on bikes bases - quite often speeders/jetbikes have either naff, or flying bases - much, MUCH prefer that almost no-man's land look you've went for with remains etc. Very atmospheric and moody.

Can I ask, any plans to add Daemons into the force, I think with the new Allies rules, some Lovecraftian horrors would really work with your force stylistically, and provide a break from painting all that armour!

Epic. Truly epic. This thread goes to show just what you can do with a bit of inspiration, hard work and lashings of talent. Your work is very inspiring, and I can't wait to see these bad boys painted up.

the jetbikes look sick... might I suggest giving them differing height flight stands so they are all not level with each other. It'll make 'em look a little more like they are flying as a squadron.

Such attention to style - great work here.
Pure wishlisting but -if you were going to make a display/carrying case for these guys- I'd suggest a Japanese WW2 I-400 aircraft carrier submarine with count-as-Rhino's mini-subs inside? (If it was even 1/2 as good as the rest of this army, it would be fantastic).

This is one of the best armies I've seen. You should be proud.

Sounds like you're wrapping everything up, but if you need one last unique close combat weapon anywhere there's a component on an arm on the River Trolls sprue that would fit in wonderfully with the maritime theme. The pics on the GW site don't show it clearly, but this CMON link does.

Seriously everyone, thank you for all the compliments and salutations. It really has been keeping my energy up to finish this immense project.

@Balerion…that is a damn cool fish hook. Wish I knew about it earlier :P
@andy2006.. Not a bad idea, but I'm already working on a display case that will really be something special hopefully

Here's my newest addition and saving the best for last… Here's my rendition of Lovecrafts' Cthulhu; Mariners Blight Daemon Prince K'thul-hu!

After looking through tons of Photos of Cthulhu, I isolated 2 key areas to recreate; the giant octopus face and the rotten carrion like wings. The head came from Reaper Miniatures Eldritch Demon (read "Cthulhu") which for obvious reasons was a perfect fit and the wings were from a Vampire Counts Zombie Dragon for that added Nurgle feel.

I started with a base Nurgle Deamon prince. The Finecast version actually came in handier due to the fact that I had to chop and edit some areas. The thigh areas were re-sculpted to look like MKII & III armor as well as the shoulder pads. The larger shoulder pad was given a raised version of the Blight logo sculpted from green stuff and extra tubing was added around underneath the pads to enhance the look.

I added a tail from the WFB Manticore Model for that extra Daemon like element and a 3-eyed Kraken icon on the shin guard similar to the standard that is on the Terminators. Finally, like with the rest of the army, the base is from Secret Weapon Miniatures.
