Greetings ladies and gentlemen. This is a rework of my old kriegsmen that were simply gathering dust in a box. At the start of the project I had about 1500pts of kreigsmen including tanks so I will start with a list what I is done at the moment.

Just one thing...Krieg troopers dont have names, just numbers.

I know that, But the more experienced soldiers in their regiment earn real names. I have not got that far with the fluff yet :P
I will take pictures of my troopers when they re basecoated. They are an eyesore for the moment.

That would be great! I want a couple of centaurs for my command squads and I am planning to scratch build them. When I start with that I could use any help I can get. because I never scratchbuilded anything before.

Ok, after finally getting access to a good camera I took some pictures. I had a really hard time to pick the colorscheame and I'm not really satisfied yet. Will keep working.
Lets start with some parts of the army shall we?


In there I got an astropath Sylvanas, master of the fleet Franz, deathriders (shall be repainted) grenaiders, and lotsa, lotsa guardsmen with several commandsquads.

Here we got some testminis I did. I don't really like the coats and want them a little bit darker but still this tone of blue. And something to break up all blue would be nice aswell. Any ideas?

I'm finally satisfied with the coat. The difference from the last two is that I started with a lighter basecoat for the blending.
Now the next problem is to find a good spot colour. I tried a bonish colour for the pants. I will use some mud pigment to bring it down a bit but I still think its a bit bright, not really sure what to do. Maybe a different color like grey or green like the helmet?
The mask will look like the earlier pictures so it will be shaded down with black and highlighted commando khaki, simply experimented with some new ideas.

As always please leave feedback and ideas. I have no idea where to go from here

Minor update. I have temporarily deleted the fluff parts, this is not the right thread to post my fluff.
Secondly a buddy and I will play a campaign, called the Rebellion of krieg. Exactly what it sounds like. We will start with 1000pts each and gradually increase. We are not allowed to use anything with a armourvalue until we have secured working factories (in this post apocalypse wasteland there will be few). He will use the heretics of vraks army list and I will use the krieg siege regiment list. And we will also play with the Deathworld rules.

It would be nice if anyone have some advice how to improve my armylist. Please note that we are not allowed to remove troops later in the campaign, only add. That is the reason for all the meltaguns and plasmas. I don't have enough grenade launchers and flamers modelvise so I don't have much choice.

The rust pigment is a bit to much for the helmets so I skipped it and painted chips and dents instead, and I tried grey instead of green. I also went for a more cold and dark gasmask with a white highligth to give it a cold dead look, finally I shaded the leather red to break up all the blue and splashed him with some mud.

Still not really sure about the colour scheme. I believe it is the coat, so I tried out a darker one. Which one do you guys prefer?

Looking good! How about painting the inside of the greatcoats a deep red, like those used by the French infantry in WW1? Really love your use of numbers instead of names for the army, great piece of fluffiness!

nice army, but it sort of reminds me of the Krieg army in Dead Men Walking. Have you based it off that book or no?

BeatThebeat I painted red cuffs and collar on the voxofficer Kemmerich but it was too bright and simply felt wrong. I have not given up on that idea yet but my first priority is to come up with a colour scheme I'm satisfied before I add details like that. And I will have a reddish leather as a spot colour so maybe it will overpower the blue.

When I did my Krieg (only 20 men, which is nowhere near enough for an army) I choose to do them blue aswell. i used a mix of fenris grey en enchanted blue, don't know what they are now :s, using a foundation paint really helped to get a nice covering. Hope that this could help and if you would want me to, i can send you a pic of one of them.

I painted the coats on my with a new paint from GW called the fang. I mixed it with black and blended it. Maybe I'm too picky.... I do have 90 kriegsmen waiting for some love. This weekend I should have a couple of test miniatures painted, I guess I have to pick a scheme soon ^^ more to come.
And sure I would love to see a picture of your kriegsmen. You can never have to much inspiration

I like the blue coats, have you thought about taking the red spot colour one step further and going with red pants? With slightly darker "metallic" blue helmets, would look awesome when properly muddied up, I think.
