Sgt Telion. He is so sneaky and secret everyone has so far forgot about him!

Oh Pyrovore, you're like the Eeyore of 40K
Telion and Marbo are great choices! I had Marbo kill 20 Kroot, 1 Great Knarloc and my Shas'o in one battle once, the git.
Can I nominate Ahriman? Hidden fists be damned when he has turned your sarge into a chaos spawn, Wind of Chaos'd the rest of the squad and blew up their transport with Bolt of Change in the shooting phase.
Well, Ahriman can't do that in one phase, as he'd have to use all his ablities before the squad disembarked. Telion and Marbo are far from secrets, as nearly every list I've ever played against from those Codices had Telion and Marbo in them.
Next we'll be seeing someone claiming how underused Eldrad is.
A secret character...hmmm
there are 2 choices
1. Blood Angels Commander Dante. As a Blood Angel player, I am suprised not to find anyone fielding Dante, sure he is quite expensive at 225 points costs, but he makes it all up in the rules! Deepstriking without scatter for him and his group, hit and run for him and his group, he is making Sanguinary guard into TROOP choices, he has a master crafted power wepon and infernus pistol and jump pack, he has Death mask of Sanguinius, that does not only counts as a regular death mask, but also gives you the abillity to decrease an enemys IC by -1 wound, -1 WS, -1 Attack, -1 Initiative! I also think he has red thirst which gives him a slight chance of getting Furious charge and Fearless!
Oh, did I forget to mention that he makes Sanguinary guard into TROOPS!!!! it's like a JP-ing assult terminator squad with more attacks and better equipment (minus the 5+ inv save, but put a priest with JP to get FNP)
2. Blood angels Captain Tycho. Now this guy, I have never seen him fielded, and hardly fielded him myself. But when I did, he and a 7 man terminator squad really caused havoc.... I mean, he has a meltalike fist! 2d6 in AP and can reroll 1 missed roll to hit! he also have orc's a PE (only good for facing orcs...DUUH), artificer armor, Special Issue Amunition combi-melta(or plasma) bolter (MY GOD). Note that you should NEVER EVER field DC Tycho...he is useless...stupid rage...
Well, that was my thought on secret characters
No one ever plays Asurmen from the Eldar. I like him because of his story. Asurmen is the guy that taught them all how to fight. He is the guy that established the first Aspect Shrine. I also like how he can automatically kill anything in the game he can wound. Even guys with Eternal Warrior. And to help that along he re rolls misses in close combat.
Gingerwerewolf beat me to it- Here's a second vote for Chaplain Cassius. He might not be as flashy as alot of other characters, but if you want an economic HQ that is a beast to try and kill, he gets my vote.
Maugan Ra? Probably the worst Phoenix lord to actually put in a squad of his aspect warriors, but capable of a surprising amount of damage if you run him on his own. Seldom enough to justify the points cost, but it's funny to watch a marine commander forget that the scythe-blade under his shuriken cannon isn't just for decoration and try assaulting him. Also one of the few characters able to pop open a landraider at range.
Nemesor Zahndrehk: The stormlord, Trayzn, and Orrikan get all the press, but the Nemesor is my favorite. His wargear is good and the ability to bestow your units with special rules and take those rules away from your opponent, offers some amazing tactical flexability.
Baron Sathonyx: First, Hellions become troops, which is amazing in and of it's self. However he also has bonuses for rolling to deploy, gives his unit stealth, and re-rolls for hit and run. He also has S6 on the charge, shadow fields, and assault grenades. An amazingly well designed character in my oppinion.
Project Tomb World: Here
And let the music of the swords make them crimson!
Hell grant soon we hear again the swords clash!
Hell blot black for always the thought "Peace!"

I gotta vote for belial hes 130 pts for a ws 5 s4 3 a 3w 2+/3++ characeter who strikes at s8

oh ands he can give a squad fearless and FNP
The Sanguinor, nuff said
The enemies of the Emperor fear many things.
They fear discovery, defeat, despair and death.
Yet there is one thing they fear above all others.
They fear the wrath of the Blood Angels!
Mind you, as an HQ with acute senses and 5 strength 6 rending shots at BS7, he can be pretty nasty in dawn of war.
If you're feeling evil, you can put him in a minimum size 'quin squad with shadowseer and death jester and really annoy people.
Still probably not worth his points though, for all that he's the second-cheapest Phoenix Lord; most of his effectiveness comes from people not knowing who/what he does
I like Yriel, Autarch of Iyanden. He's BS6, WS6, I 7 with 4 base Attacks which wound on 2+ and ignore armor saves. He can help your Reserved units come onto the board more reliably, he fits in a transport, he's Fleet, has a 3+/4++ save, and let's not forget the Eye of Wrath, which can see off a full Marine squad with a bit of luck. I like running him with Storm Guardians or Fire Dragons, making a sort of Yriel Bomb.
My Craftworld Yme-Loc project log It lives! Completed Night Spinner. Updated 11/27/12 Now with 100% more Dark Eldar!
An'ggrath the Unbound. The only single model who can tear a Warlord Titan (9 Structure Points) apart in a few turns.
There are only one man who can make a Hive Tyrant regret eating all those people.
One man who will make the fearsome Abaddon the Despoiler regret ever joining Chaos.
One man to make the Skarbrand a pacifist.
One man to make the Canoness cry for the heretic se just executed.
The One man is Ezekiel, Holder of the Keys and Grand Master of Librarians.
I was surprised I had to read so far before I found Bonzai's post of Baron Sathonyx. I think that point for point, he is the best character in the game, and here's why:
- He's only 100 points, and comes with S6, WS6, I6, a shadow field, phantasm grenade launchers and hit and run
- He gives you +1 to see who goes first. This has made me go first at least 80% of the time
- He makes one squad of Hellions MUCH better, with reroll difficult and stealth
Most of the time I don't even run him with Hellions. He's so cheap that you can throw him forth with reckless abandon, and more often than not, the 2+ INV will keep him safe. Once he gets into some stationary tanks, he causes a mess, or alternatively he can tie up shooty squads.
He does however suffer from the lack of a power weapon, but I think his utility more than makes up for it.
There is no problem in the world that cannot be solved by the sustainable application of high explosives.
Dark Eldar never lose: If we win: we win, if we run away: we'll come back with more guys, and if we die, our companions devour our souls and we live on in a state of endless agony. Oh, wait...
I personally am a fan of Kharn, but I seem to take th skulls of my own units much more than the enemies.
Marbo is quite popular, so I'll leave him out. Harker was mentioned. Straken.. yeah, he's just good.
Nork Deddog. 110 pts. When all the little ones are dead it's just him and the commander, jointly T5, WS5 (with Straken). Very hard to kill allowing Straken to get stuck in. Maybe a waste of regimental standard.
