    space wolves at 1500 points

    40K Army: Space Marines
    I have made a 1.5k list for my space wolfs. I want to know what people think about this and any improvements that could be made to the list.



    HQ - rune priest.
    jaws of the wolf
    living lightning

    TROOPS-

    10 grey hunters
    x2 melta
    drop pod

    10 grey hunters
    x2 melta
    drop pod

    10 grey hunters
    x2 plasma
    drop pod

    drop pod

    total 1500.

    the dreadnoughts have assault cannon/multi-melta as they are both the same points and I will swap around the weapons choice depending on what I'm playing. e.g. heavy tank army ill put the melta, infantry based army I will use the assault cannon. please leave feedback and comments.

    hi

    won't your vindicators be shooting in scatterdistance of your droppod units?
    i'd drop them and make the dreadnoughts mm/hf in droppods also
    i would advise on wolfguard for your droppod units, you will get charged, you'll need to pass the counterassault leadership test, so -1 melta gun add wolfguard with combimelta and powerfist
    i'd put the priest in your homeobjective plasmasquad and give him murderous hurricane/ll. if something closes on the unit create diff/dangerous terrain as a blocker

    I like the idea for adding in some wolf guard. I have played most of my games with long fangs ( 2 squads of 5 missiles 1 leader) but with my local club mainly taking high AV tanks they did not seem to do a lot, also with killing normal men they seemed to do nothing for me. that why I replaced them with vindicators as they have the ability to take out tanks and terminators with the STR 10 AP 1 ( my local club like to run a lot of terminators as well, mostly being 10 strong TH/SS) so when I took the long fangs I never had a solution to getting rid of those threats.

    if you insist on the vindicators, i'd put them all in one flank and blast away while the pods target the other flank, using pods to create a wedge in the enemy lines.
    i'd strongely advise against walking mm or assaultcanon dreads
    maybe you can drop them and take outflanking scouts with melta and extra combimelta/pf wolfguards?

    up until lately I have been running scouts with melta bombs, which i could use instead of the dreadnoughts, the main reason they were in the list is so people would see them pod infront of their tanks and panic and then letting me take down parts of there army when there preoccupied.

    not really sure, I guess it was because i wanted a change in tactic. but they are great fun to use.

    I always used them as a suicide unit to get rid of a nasty tank. come one from the edge (if rolls go in my favour) then run to the tank and plant melta bombs on it then expect them to die not long after. other than that I'm not sure how else to play them.

    depends on the diceroll, but arriving from his own tableside doublemeltashoot a tank and try to doublecharge so you can put the fist against another tank or when melta fails use the fist on the first target. when targetting a transport :sometimes the cargo of a destroyed transport is juicy enough to handle with the unit+wolfguard

    I have always used them to kill a big thing, for example in a apoc game a while back I managed to get a unit behind some ones super heavy that hadn't moved, it was then taken of the table
