Shaw3029's Panzergrenadiers Fully painted with lots of pics.

Been painting some Flames Of War recently. After about a year of painting my Panzergrenadier army on and off they are finished! I know I should probably be painting my Imperial Fists but I couldn't help but finish these guys first.

Thats 2000pts using the list in Earth and Steel. I've been tempted by Grey Wolf but Im not sure if it have any suitable lists.

    The Commanders.

I know I'm meant to have a motorcycle for one of the transports but I didnt want to buy a whole box just to use one.

    Front.

    Back

    Closeups

    Panzer 1V Commander 1

    Panzer 1V Commander 2

    Some Closeups of the Tigers.

    Side

    Rear

I know the Turret numbers are meant to go on the side of the turret but I just couldn't get them to fit I put them on the rear instead. I think they blend it pretty well. It was myfirst time using transfers / decals before.

I actually painted all of the Infantry some time last year but only finished the tanks today.

    Cheers!

    You have been busy!

    They look great

The grass tufts suit the figures very nicely and you swing a nice brush.

Love the dirtied up atmosphere on these and the light eastern front steppe grass gives a nice contrast and makes the figures stand out. Love the look of the Nebelwerfers, a really nicely finished army - very jealous!

    Thanks ever so much guys!

I spent this evening putting together a simple gaming table.

Two 3 x 4 MDF sheets with some 2x1 screwed onto the underside to prevent them from slipping off the table. Ive wanted a gaming table since I was a kid but never made one until now.

    Laid flat.

I don' t think it is unreasonable to expect an AAR with lots of nice pictures. ...

    Please...

Cheers Paul, Your have to come over for a game at some point. Although Ive not any 40k scenery yet.

Not many shot from the games I had earlier this week although my friend took some so there will be some more soon.

The panzers arrived just in time to take the shermans out as they approached the objective.

The grenadiers charged towards the american objective only to be taken out in one single airstrike.

Apart from the crew these are nearly finished. I shall be paiting them as SS troops so Ive got to get some different paints before I can actually paint them.

I've also added another objective to the army.

This all took a little longer to paint than planned as I got distracted making and painting some scenery. I've got a decent amount now and il get some photos the next time I play a game.

    Cheers!

Re: Shaw3029's Panzergrenadiers Fully painted with lots of pics.

I've spent the past few weeks working on my table and finally got a few games on it last friday.

I've ordered some buildings and have enough material to make some more bocage but Im taking a break to paint up some SS while I wait for the buildings to arrive.

We played three games in total. I won two. The one I lost was a very close game. The toughest mission was the final game of the day. Fighting withdrawal. How do you dig out british paratroopers!?! I managed in the end but boy it was tough.

    Heres a couple of shots.

Tigers are ambushed! The Brits bailed hit the side armour with there full rate of fire at close range, but only managed to bail a single tiger.

Help quickly arrives from the panzergrenadiers.

    From the few games we have played together it seems;

Tigers are near unstoppable. Some serious anti tank needs to be invested in.
Dug in Fearless Veteran Infantry and damn hard to shift!
    Nebelwerfers are crap!

Great looking stuff! Everyything is looking fantastic and I really like that downed tank objective.

Also, having just watch Jurassic park 2 I wish I could tell these guys that it is not wise to enter the long grass

Cheers Hushrong! Glad you like em.

Unfortunately I've gone over the limit on my Photobucket account so I've started using my other account. The bandwidth should be back to normal soon and hopefully the new account will solve the problems.

Heres a few WIP shots to keep you going.

I got the SS Boxset for my birthday and have made, based and sprayed them all brown.

As the box came with some panzerschrecks and I now have a bunch of halftracks I've decided to paint these up if I ever want to field some Panzer Lehr.

    Cheers!

Re: Shaw3029's Panzergrenadiers Fully painted with lots of pics.

Finished the Panzer Lehr Panzerschrecks. Combined with the half tracks I now have the option to field a panzer lehr army or a standard panzer grenadier army. You have got to love the amount of options available with this game.

After getting hold of a motorbike my command now has one,

I've also made some progress on the SS army. The Pak40 platoon in particular,

I am hoping to use them in a game tonight hence the small amount of static grass. I've yet to paint the crew because I need to get some paint for the peadot camo.

    Cheers!

Nice work getting the army this far.

Panzergrenadiers are one of my favourite lists in FOW. So versatile.
