The Rapier Armoured Carrier is an ancient device, one of many such technological relics of the dawning days of Mankind’s stellar empire. A bulky, armoured track unit, which mounts a powerful antomantic reactor, the Rapier is often armed with a powerful quad lascannon known as a laser destroyer. This has become synonymous with the Rapier Armoured Carrier itself, and the Graia Pattern Rapier Laser Destroyer is perhaps the most common design of this potent anti-tank weapon in use.

The Space Marine Rapier Laser Destroyer is often deployed by many Space Marine chapters, especialy those descended from the Imperial Fists and Iron Hands Legions, and is widely used during Boarding Assaults and in the close and deadly confines of Zone Mortalis. Model designed by Mark Bedford and Will Hayes, this multi-part resin kit is supplied with two Space Marine crew in MkIII ‘Iron’ Armour and is available to pre-order now for despatch from the 2nd April. Experimental rules for the Space Marine Rapier Laser Destroyer care available to download from the Forge World website now.

The name of the bloody-handed and paranoid master of the Minotaurs Chapter, Asterion Moloc, is a byword for slaughter and destruction in the name of the Imperium across a hundred worlds, yet he is also a diligent and disciplined logistician and a master of siege craft. In battle he can most often be found at the head of his 1st Company Terminators, and when not prosecuting a conflict he occupies a brazen throne at the very heart of his flagship, the labyrinthine heavy assault carrier Daedelos Krata.

The gaunt and brooding Reclusiarch Ivanus Enkomi became the eyes and voice of his master during the Badab War; an aloof and distant observer at Carab Culln’s war-councils. A paradox, whose red-irised eyes and crimson-tattooed features speak of some feral origin, yet in whose voice lies a capacity for fierce and stirring oratory, Chaplain Enkomi is a skilled tactical commander, most notably during the Loyalist attack on Shaprias that uncovered the black depths to which the Tyrant of Badab’s treachery had sunk.

Asterion Moloc and Ivanus Enkomi, designed by the talented Simon Egan, are incredibly detailed multi-part resin figures available as a set of two models. The set is available to pre-order now for despatch from the 2nd April, and rules for these special characters can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 10: The Badab War Part 2.

Wait... is Moloc wearing heresy era shoulder pads? If so, that's awesome

I like Moloc's armour, it's dead 'ard! It's a very cool model... Curses! I was thinking about starting a Carcharodon army but now I am not so sure!

Nope it`s even more awesome - he`s wearing mark 8 Errant armour style terminator armour. The shoulder pads like that (previously seen on the plastic Company Champion in the command box) are what is shown in the art for Errant armour in the Badab books. With the Minotaurs being a chapter known to use mk8 armour in large quantities around the next book would be a likely time for them to release mk8 marines.

I`m a big fan of both the new models and I`ll be converting 6mm scale ones for my Epic Armageddon Minotaurs army at some point (I quit the silly 28mm shenanigans some time ago).

Moloc is wearing a (heavily modified) suit of Cataphract armour (which I think is the name for the PH Termie armour, going off the John Blanche sketch). Check the legs - they're bulkier, and don't have the exposed hydraulics. I am frothing at the sight of this, and the Reclusiarch and Iron armoured crew on the Rapier are putting me at risk of a seizure with their awesomeness.

Going off all other GW sources that feature it, and the fact that there were other errors with armour Marks in that same section in the Badab books (the Mk. VII legs on the Maximus armour, the torso of Corvus armour), I'm fairly sure that FW's depiction of Errant armour is incorrect. The Company Champion's armour is Errant armour (except for the helmet), but highly individualised - it's supposed to just look like plain Aquila armour, apart from the raised gorget, armoured abdominal feeds, what I assume are added stabilisers around the ankles, and heavier gauntlets.

The raised collar, double-plated shoulders, and heavier leg plates (also minus the external hydraulics, as I said) are all features of PH Termie armour, which I'm thinking this is a modification of.

Rap music may be bad, but many metalheads have a tendency to be judgmental and elitist. I should know - I am one.

Seconded. My first thought was: "How to convert this baby into a Cataphract?"

Asterion is all kinds of awesome, the helmet (but only the helmet) design even surpass the artwork, IMO:

looks like Molok is in a pattern of tacitcal dreadnought armour that is akin to the akin to contemptor dreadnought, a nice tie in to the design cross overs. amazing stuff.

I love that Terminator. Can't wait for the early-pattern (ie. Heresy) Terminators later this year, if that's any guide. (Not a fan of the cloak, or the normal dude, but to see a Terminator with his arms in the right place just makes me feel all gooey inside.

I really like the Rapier too, hope they offer different pattern crew for it though, not every Rapier in the galaxy has Mark III marines using it surely. (Also, for a brief moment I saw the word "Ordnance" on a 60 point S9 AP2 twin-linked artillery piece and thought they'd broken the game... then I saw the sub-note and relaxed markedly).

Holy crap, you're right, GW have finally released a model in Terminator armour that wouldn't require the user to break their neck and dislocate their shoulders to fit inside

Not to mention, with only very very slight modifications, it would make an incredible artscale Marine. The head on the Chaplain would be perfect for my Star Phantoms honour guard too. Curse you FW, why do you have to keep releasing such lovely stuff? That's another £30 I won't see again, heh.

EDIT: Curses, that Enforcer is fantastic conversion-fodder...anyone going to the open day that wasn't going to buy one who'd pick it up on my behalf? Or is everyone that goes going to buy one to flog on ebay?

Do you mean the Rapiers that have Squats crewing them?

Those are some pretty fine sculpts. I wonder if someone has either watched too much 300, read too much Paul Kearney and/or is generally a fan of "that Spartan look".

Those are some awesome marine characters. I have zero use for them, but Moloc is one of those models cool enough to inspire a whole army. Well done, Forgeworld.

Spoke to Ead Brown (sp?) at the 40k doubles in tournament in Feb about the PH Terminators (cataphracts) and he mentioned they were on the list of things they would like to do, but had no immediate plans. Which is a real shame because they look awesome!

I'm loving the Minotaurs characters, now to work out how to convert them...

That just goes to show that Forgeworld will lie just like Gw seen as by that event the terminators were already produced!

    They look gorgeous!

Nooooo. Every newsletter is another newsletter without me getting Bran Redmaw. I'm heading down to WW in a couple of weeks to pick up a boatload of FW stuff but no Bran by the looks of it

    Love Them!!!

I come from Macedonia, always wanted to start a space marine army based loosely around Alexander the Great.

    Buying those right now!
