I think a lot of these questions will be if not answered then much clearer come 6th. There was a mention by someone about a difference in Evade value, though if that's a guess or a rumor in and of itself was unclear to me. If it's an Evade Value rumor then I find that interesting because it harkens back to that leaked/hoaxed orphan ruleset. Whether it be Chaos or 6th that comes first I'm interested to see what answers are revealed (and if Harry will ever actually dish on what the .pdf actually was and how it got out as I have not yet seen an accurate explanation for that).

Sorry, that was me, I probably shouldn't have said "evade" as that was a term used in the supposed leaked rulebook.

Essentially I meant that they will get saves akin to skimmers depending on their type and how fast they moved.

I have to say this is more what i was thinking of too.

transport (which in many cases appears to fulfill the role of gunship as well...), bomber and fighter. Fighters can come equipped with missiles for cross-over capability, bombers get a dedicated ground attack weapon, while the gunship/transport fills the same roll as a landraider/falcon in conventional 40k

If they do get flyer rules, I'dlike to see fighters be able to have a shorter minimum distance before they turn and a greater overall movement value.

Fighters and bombers should only be able to attack 1 target. transports and gunships should be able to attack multipe targets to show them clearing an lz and the greater crew etc.

I'm thinking this as well. I am very very excited about how Necron Scythes will perform under 6th ed.

How will it perform... hmm. Lets start with how it will look. We need a model first.

Back on topic... I'm wondering how much different the rules will be from the current IA ruleset for fliers... Will we still have streaking lines across the board?

I don't know about the rules, but I bet all-round AV14 vehicles such as Monoliths and Land Raiders will become more popular. Fliers can easily get shots on the side or rear armour of vehicles. Transports will probably become less common as a consequence. It's a rather cunning way to scale back mechanized armies, depending on how vehicles are nerfed and/or buffed in the new rulebook. Infantry toting heavy weapons may become more popular as a counter to aircraft.

Flyers in general don't care about which facing they are in since they use side armor in the current rules (representing top armor).

Well, Valk and Storm Raven are both at the $66 point, the Razorwing is what, $42? Cheaper than most tanks. I'd expect any upcoming fliers to be at those points, depending on if they are 2 or 3 sprues. But that is more suited for the pricing thread.

It is my understanding that there is also a Necron Flyer.

I'll add that to the first post.

Which, furthermore, have artwork to go with them in their unit entries. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that give some indication as to how they'll look (although the precedent set by the Tyrannofex being different in kit form to the artwork would suggest otherwise)?
