Thread: Autumn of Fliers

    Re: Autumn of Fliers

Ohh a space marine flyer, I wonder if I can use it with my space wolves.

Only 3 or so weeks until the next round of WD leaks. Possible flyers and 6th rulebook?

Well I, for one, think that Harry is a fairly reliable source. His Avatar is one that I keep an eye out for when scrolling through rumour threads when I want to look for actual tidbits of info. That - the fact that I find that Harry is a reliable "rumourmancer" as has he has been called (I like the term myself!) - isn't going to stop me from trying to assess the validity of what else I have heard vs what Harry is telling me. It's simply my way of trying to see what is most likely coming my way, sometimes, Harry, you seem very cryptic... not that its a bad thing, mystery is fun too!

Beasts of War is having a live show tonight at 8 PM GMT about the new flyers:
    http://www.beastsofwar.com/warhammer...ew-40k-fliers/

That’s right guys… Tonight’s show is all about the new… wait for it… Space Marine Stormtalon… the Necron Doom & Night Scythes… plus the new Ork Biltza-Bommer, Dakkajet and Burna-Bommer! and we expect these bad boys to hit the shelves, perhaps around June 2nd?

We’ll have a “look” at them in more detail and discuss some of the special rules you might expect for such awesome hardware!

Who would you want to be a Fighter Ace that shoots down enemy skimmers?

What if one could shrug off Melta weapons?

Would you want a flier that turns up and strafes across enemy lines?

We’ll discuss all this and more tonight!
Stormtalon, multiple Ork flyers? They've got my curiosity peaked.

3 Ork flyers? That sounds too good to be true (even if they're all built from the same kit)

Gonna have to go tell the meks in my brain to settle down. I'm going to be too excited about these Ork flyers to get any work done .

    Re: Autumn of Fliers

Blitza-Bommer and Burna-Bommer are probably the same airframe with different ordnance. Dakkajet just sounds cool, will probably use part of the wings and fuselage of the Bommers.

So, in reality, two flyers with extra guns and bombs for the third.

    Good stuff!

    Re: Autumn of Fliers

I'm hoping the Blitzabomma is anti-tank. It would fill a role that the Orks desperately need filled (and would probably guarantee a substantial initial sell off).

What sticks out to me the most is that all the Ork Flyer names are different than Fighta-Bomma, so perhapse GW is finally holding true to not snaking units from FW.

Can't wait to find out more about the Ork kit. 3 variants means I'll be buying at least 3 (and probably more...)

Hmm. 3 variants of Ork aircraft? Well the Blitza-Bomba and Burna-Bomba sound like the same airframe with a different weapon option- heavier bombs vs lighter incendiary ones- think the Whirlwind rounds. Probably using the bombing mechanics of the Void Mine. DakkaJet is probably a guns only plane.

Still, good news. And Storm Talon is an awesome name if true.

It wouldn't be at all difficult to design an Ork kit that could make either a fighter or bomber hull. All you need is an additional hoop of main fuselage to add in the middle for an extra 1-2" of length and some wing extensions.

    Re: Autumn of Fliers

Or, going by AI Ork Designs, have the Fighta engines at the Wing roots, and the bomba engines at the ends of the wings with small extensions.
