Thread: SLWC Presents Summer Slaughter. 1750 point 40k tourney. 18th August 2012

How's everyone doing for this tournament then? I was going to take my Ultramarines for it but am seriously considering my Necrons - It's a hard decision to make!

I best get cracking though since my Necron army needs 4 Heavy Destroyers painted, two Annhilation Barges assembled and painted, a Command Barge assembled and painted, two Wraiths' paint jobs finished, 3 Immortals painted and a Cryptek. Not to mention basing the army too.

Hmm, that's just my 1500pts list! Whatever I add to make it the full points value will probably also need to be bought and painted too! Looks like I need to take my Ultramarines after all.

So, basically all your necrons need to be done? Lol! Just kidding. There's still plenty of time. Though to see Ultras would be good. Not that I'm biased...

On another note, Hedley Crocker has asked to join the reserves list. Glad to have you on board mate!

It's looking like I will be playing Ultramarines since I haven't really done anything to my Necrons! Ha, I do have two weeks all to myself, but I'm just soooo busy right now!

    Embarrassing!

Well, I have given this a lot of thought. Assuming that 6th ed is released on the 30th June, that gives us 7 weeks to learn the rule set. Thoughts people?

I'm not worried either way. The 30th of June could be the pre-order date so you may be looking at 6 weeks not that it makes much difference.

This is as long as my chaos space marines don't get any more nerfed if that's possible

Yeah, I would like to use 6th edition. Everyone will be playing it like mad, which means if I want any training games before the tournament I have to play people at 5th edition!

Besides, 5th edition feels dead to me right now.

I had a feeling 6th would be the more popular choice...

If the GW head office decide that a rule book is worth £45 then i for one will not be buying it and will wait for the starter box in September. So this will also affect my ability to play in this tournament, so lets see what happen on saturday.

    Sorry

Andy, not that it's any solace but you should be able to pick it up for £36 (20%) discount online with free delivery - triplehelix stock deals etc.

HI guys after looking at all the stuff that GW have released this weekend and the discount sites. i have made the decision that i will not be paying that kind of money for a rule book. i will save my money and buy the starter set in september. Can i cancel my slot in this tournie. sorry guys. but there does appear to be a strong reserve list.

I really, really want to attend this tournament, but I am unsure about getting child care for this event. Long story short, my usual child care on weekends is my mother, but she's now suffering mental illness and in the loony bin (no joke!) so I have lost my weekend carer.

I'm really sorry to let you down but I'm going to have to pull out.

Damn shame since I've been itching to try my hand at competetive 6th edition.

Unfortunately Nathan has had to pull out, so Daniel Connock takes his place.
