    Welcome to Heroheim

I'm going to set up a campaign, where each player starts with just a Captain in his warband. I'm thinking of giving them 125 gold crowns to start with, with which they'll be able to buy their Hero and equip him and leave some room for a statistic upgrade.
I'm still undecided if it should be 'any one stat upgrade if you have the cash' or just allow them to buy +1 W (if they have the cash), as I know that would be the stat of choice in my group (but hey if they wanna go with +1 I instead, they're free to do so) or just go with 'buy what you want if you have the money'. C&C on this welcome.

Over the course of the campaign they'll be gathering more money and will be able to fill out a warband. The options of starting heroes per warband will be the following:

    Mercenaries- Captain
    Witch Hunters- Captain
    Sisters of Sigmar- Matriarch
    Possessed- Magister/ Mutant
    Skaven- Assassin Adept/ Eshin Sorceror
    Undead- Vampire/ Necromancer

Any hero that does not normally have the Leader skill will get it for free. The Necromancer will have the stats and cost of the Chaos Magister and the Eshin Sorceror will receive the following statistics:

    M WS BS S T W I A LD Costs
    5 4 4 3 3 1 4 1 7 70

This will offcourse cause some difficulties to arise when, say, an Undead warband with a Necromancer as leader needs another hero. For the Undead, I've decided to allow the option of a Wight King to be bought (Vampire stats and costs, not Leader). For the Skaven and Possessed I've still got to figure something out should my friends choose to take a Mutant or Sorceror for a Hero, but that will be of later concern and posted in due time. Suggestions welcome on this topic too.

And offcourse, I'll be playing the role of Games Master, and have random buildings/ rooms have random opponents from Zombies and Giant rats in the Sewers, to crazed flagellants or the Towns people from Empire in Flames in the Streets above. (Yes, I have the Malifaux terrain and it's brilliant for this).

All in all I'm really looking forward to getting this Campaign started. Have any of you ever thought about or done something like this?

Sidenote: I also hope to get my mates to buy their own miniatures, have them (mostly) WYSIWYG and painted. Like a tale of X gamers type story. For the past 15 years it's been me and one more mate who owned the models, buildings (everything) and them participating but I really hope to change that now.

I like the idea, but I would rather see it go the way of starting with about 200 gc and still play traditional Mordheim, but in an escalation style. Keep the option to buy upgrades and skills.
