For those of you who do not play a marine army. Thank you. You bring some spice and flavour to this hobby.

I never thought I'd say this about the marines, but..

The shoulder pads look too small. The body is excellent and the heads are great, but the shoulders lack the bulk that defines the astartes look. However, with a few conversions using various other companies for the shoulder pads, these would look like excellent heresy terminators. I think this was a missed opportunity by forge world.

If they are actually 30 GBP, then at the current exchange rate they are cheaper than plastics in US Dollars...can that possibly be right?

It's also cheaper than the GW kit in Swedish kronor.

Love the look of it. Might buy some in the future.

They look good, and with the current exchange rate they are a few cents cheaper than regular terminators here in Sweden.

Can't wait until the Assault terminator variant comes out.

Re: FW: Tartaros pattern terminator armour

    And news letter here:

    Hi there,
With the Forge World Open Day only a few days away, we can now reveal details of a brand new Space Marine release that will be available to buy at the event; the Tartaros Pattern Terminator Squad. This detailed, multi-part resin kit is available to pre-order now and will be on sale in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day on Sunday 1st April – and that’s no joke!

    Tartaros Pattern Terminator Squad

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/FW/tart11nl.jpgTactical Dreadnought Armour, or Terminator Armour as it is more usually known, is the most resilient form of personal protection available to the Adeptus Astartes. Originally developed during the closing years of the Great Crusade, and adapted from the heaviest of industrial gear, several types and patterns were developed concurrently.

Of these, the Indomitus pattern is perhaps the most widespread, due to its template being held on key Forge Worlds such as Mars, although Tartaros Pattern Terminator armour is also issued to the Veterans of a Chapter’s 1st Company.

Perhaps the most advanced form of Tactical Dreadnought Armour, the Tartaros pattern shares many systems with the MkIV ‘Maximus’ pattern of power armour, and provides greater mobility for its wearer than the Indomitus pattern with no loss in durability or protection.

The Tartaros Pattern Terminators set, designed by Will Hayes, is a full resin kit that comprises five Terminators, armed with power fists, a power sword, storm bolters, a heavy flamer and enough optional attachments to arm four Space Marines with chainfists. This detailed squad will be available to purchase in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day on Sunday 1st April, and is also available to pre-order now for despatch from 10th April.

Nice! i'm probably going to the open day this sunday
I'm not much of a fan of the legs though, they look a bit like the robot costumes you used to make as a kid out of carboard boxes

Ehhhhh, I like them but they're not quite what I was hoping for. Maybe I'm just too picky.

Re: FW: Tartaros pattern terminator armour

Guess thats the closest FW will come to releasing Horus Heresy Terminators

All the pre heresy gamers need to do is add some leather strips to the shoulder pads and your done, even got Combi Bolter lookalikes!

Re: FW: Tartaros pattern terminator armour

Not sure i like them. I think the shoulder pauldrons are too small. There isnt enough detail. And they look too much like little contemptors. Hmmmm I would much prefered "real" pre heresy termis.

Actually Ithink its the arms. they seem too short

Re: FW: Tartaros pattern terminator armour

Aww, they look like baby contemptors ^_^

Yea, they're pretty cool. Given the links to Maximus armour, they could fit I'm a heresy era army as well.

I was hoping for Cataphract armour, but these are still pretty sweet.

Think the £30 was a mistake, its now gone up to £36

Re: FW: Tartaros pattern terminator armour

Meh, not a fan. I was kinda hoping FW would have done something more like the Cataphractii design, but they seem to have gone for contemptor mini-me instead. Still, the heavy flamer arm looks good.

    With regards,
    Dan.

I'm hoping the current FW resin shoulder pads will fit. But I may just wait to see if they release an assault squad version.
    Stuff I'm working on:
40k - Pre Badab Astral Claws - Hive Fleet Phobos - *New* Imperial Fists Heresy Era
Fantasy - One nation under Hashut

"Please note that these models are not compatible with our range of Terminator Shoulder Pads."

At only £8 more than RRP for a terminator squad it's tempting - but then again I never pay RRP.

If they're at Salute I may pick some up after having a look in person
