I was wondering how long before we would start seeing posts like these about FW . Have you ever actually talked to the guys at Forge World (and gal, sorry Talima ), because I have several times, and I can tell you they are a group of top notch blokes. They trying to push the "latest toy" as you put it anymore than any other buisness, alot of what Forge World produces is based on what the community wants, you want evidence? Then go to their senimars where they regulary ask wether people would like to see certain models. (pre-heresy terminators being the latest example)

I've been to the seminars and heard the interest, and there is just as much interest for other races (that never see the light of day). They are a business at the end of the day. They may be "nice blokes", but they work for a company and have to sell what's in demand and make it topical to waves of interest. Armor and era variants is just the latest large wave to hit.

I say forgeworld's original model ideas are usually the lovechild of the company, while releases like this are simply the in-demand moneymakers.

They absolutely did multiple times on facebook and in Q & A sessions. With forgeworld they are largely a business revolving around impulse purchasing and rushing to buy "the latest toy." They are almost like the cell phone vendors of the modeling world: your current one works fine, but the latest, greatest and more exclusive one is a "must have"

I think they may be just a *tad* too expensive to be classified as an "impulse" purchase. I think they have more of the Apple computers vibe - they're very expensive and *arguably* beautiful models. They occupy that "elite" space.

Still waiting for some usable* DE stuff, both new units and appearance only. Considering they seem to be GW's second best selling range (edit: 40k range) after Space Marines, I'm surprised they haven't had more attention from FW unless their projects are planned loooooooooooooong in advance.
