    On expedition! An empire armyblog

It was one of those days when scribe and master engineer Duncan Hertwig found himself peering over some old maps.

    Suddenly he discovered something terrible...

As quickly as his old thin legs could carry him, he ran out of the room. He directly went to the shooting range where he found his younger cousin, Borri Hertwig

"You silly ole crow! Now I missed my last shot!"

Quickly Duncan explained himself and he showed Borri the map.

"But that's terrible" cried Borri out "We have to go to the count, now!"

Quickly they ran to the count...

" Sir, Count, Wolfram Hertwig, I bring terrible news."
    "Speak up"
"I was just looking at my maps when I found out a big piece of Lustria is not on the map!"
    ....
"But Duncan, that surly can't be the reason you are bottering me?"
    "Yes, sir count, it is"
-Sigh- "Wel show me the maps then"
    ........
    "But that is terrible indeed!"
"Yes sir count, I told you."
"We have to send men to Lustria as quickly as possible."
"I will send message to Karl Franz."

"Come Borri, we are going on expedition!" "To Lustria!"

Lol, good story, and great scenic, but I didn't understand what exactly did disappear : a piece of the map, of a part of Lustria itself ??

Truly, the awesomest plan in the history of plans. "Hey, you know that area on the map that says: 'HERE BE DRAGONS'? Let's go there, possibly killing ourselves and our posse in the process! Yeah, being an adventurer is cool."

The models look cool though, especially the engineer's eyepatch-monocle-thingy.

And sometimes your feet gets eaten by a big feet-eating plant!

    .......

But of course you can kill the plant, just chop it's head of!

But make sure you cut off both heads...

These two are unitfillers for a halbadier detachment. They are both almost finished, just need to remove some mouldlines and fingerprints.

Please let me know what you think!

They look hilarous! Decently posed (with panic and grim determination in their stances) and they (especially the second dude) bring comedy to one of the more grim fantasy settings out there.

    Good job, Sah! Five stars!

Re: On expedition! An empire armyblog

    Thanks!

    The knight's dragon
Originally part of the knight's dragon, these men gained their name when they slayed the dragon attacking the city of Essen. They also have an infamous repetation as hirelings, drunks and robbers.

I finished their standard bearer today.

    Close up of the banner:

This'll be a unit of (inner circle) knights with great weapons and possibly a flaming banner.

I also got the new armybook and it's really a lovely book, definitely an improvement over the last one! I already planned a thousand point army list:

1 Character (this'll either be a warrior priest of a fire mage)

    20 swordsmen regiment with fc
    10 halbadiers detachment

10 handgunners with marksmen with hochland long rifle

    20 flaggelants

    Celestial Hurricanum

I already have the flaggelants, knights and warrior priest. I also have a lot of random empire models lying arounds (and lots of bitz) but I sold most of my old empire half a year ago.
There will probably be some pictures of flaggelants soon.

Let me know what you think!!

Nice colours on the flagellants. The flames in particular are very well done. I really like your unit fillers as well - great concepts there.

You've obviously put some effort into shading and highlighting but the transition between layers looks a bit raw in places, especially the flesh and the white cloth. I would recommend maybe a very thin brown wash to help smooth out the gradient.
My Empire, Nurgle Chaos Warriors and High Elves, all in one place.

Still going in The Tale of Fantasy Painters 2012-2013!

Thank you! I will try that!

What was the middle one found guilty of?
I've just painted some lines, it should be a list of a lot of crimes... It's supposed to be written in a smaller letters.
I found out it says found guily of, I should try to paint a t between the l and y.

I will post pictures of their unit fillers soon....

Nice units Love the unit fillers and the warrior priest He sorta looks like Arthas Menethil before he fell and became the lich king (excuse my geek-ness...) Could you explain how you made the cloak? I see them around more and more and my characters are starting to feel bare without any

It's not made, I traded it with a friend for some other bits, I think it's from the chaos marauder kit, or chaos warrior kit.
