Here are two hobgoblins khans. I'm using the old RoR models on top of the new wolves (amazing scuplts, right?) . Satisfies my need for nostalgia and coolness all at once!

Here is my proposed basing scheme.





That is some ruins from this russian castle kit I found, then the old GW Ch.."something somthing" granite with Armybuilder ash wastland flock on top. Next I painted in some brown spots with the new GW "Blackfire Earth" Texture paint, inked with old devlon mud, then dry brushed bubonic brown....Finally added a couple of "Highland Tuft" grass flocks from Army builder.
What do you guys think? Please provide feed back as I'm going to need to base everything next week.

The castellan conversion looks really , and the k'daai conversions really seems to fit with the chaos dwarf model style.

Wow, just took some time to have a proper look through the log, and I was taken aback by the amount of cool stuff you got in here.
The hobgoblins unit look great, nicely painted, and they suit the goblin shields well. Same goes for the hobgoblin-wolves, good to see those new models put to use with some gobbos.
Both them and the fireborn are looking really dynamic. Good job on the bases too.
Fire coming from nostrils of the armoured lava guy (don't know what he's called, sorry) is a really nice touch.
I don't know if you've finished painting the glaives on the chaos dwarves, but if not, I really like the purpley colour you added on one of the testers, I'd go with that one.
Really looking forward to seeing how this develops. Tbh Chaos Dwarf plogs don't usually grab my attention, but this one has drawn me in, lots of great ideas.

I appreciate the feedback too, I have already pressed forward on the hellglaives though. Not super happy about them but had to move on. I painted them a dark gold color (p3 paint) and black at the inverse rifling bits, glazed it red then picked out some metal bits. Those guys are almost ready to post.

I have a few other things I need to upload as well, just 10 days left until I need to use them. I foresee a lot of red bull in my future..

While I like having old models for the nostalgia effect. I don’t think my helmet conversions went off very well and they are just pretty blobby models in general. I kinda feel like I just should have bough more foregeworld models. I don’t hate them or anything, just regret the time spent “putting lipstick on a pig” or bull in this case. Anyway moving on.

So I put some paint on the BSB , glued on the standard, then quickly remembered about weighting the base lol, He was pretty “Tipsy”








So I took off the magnet and pounded flat some fishing weights, ,much more stable now.






So 9 days left, lots of painting. Perfect time to switch gears and work on the display table right!?!

Update" Well I have 5 days left , gotta a lot done over the week, but no time or picture. Painting is moslty done, I'll try to post pictures as I finish basing things. Display board is woefully behind schedule, wont be done, but should have something put together.

I probably have a bout 3 hours of Painting. 2 house of baing, and 4 hours of display board work left. I might need to play hookie from work one day this week.

In general most units will still need cleanup, and layering. But it should be passible for gaming standard. Apparently 5 weeks to assemble, convert, and paint and entire army is not really enough (when layered on top of you normal life of course).

Great update since last! I really like your paintscheme on the FW warmachines. Many paint them way to flat with almost no variation in colours. Yours look great, with a lot of stuff going on but still being coherent.
