indeed they are. would me mildly disaapointed if thats what they are in the end. Can't we just have the ever useful dual purpose standard missiles.
Are there no pictures of the plasma pred? i'd take an educated guess at what it looks like based on previous plasma turrets, but it'd still be nice to actually see one.
For those still worrying about the April's fool joke if there still are any: they've got the joke covered here.
Sweet model. I know I'd probably be converting a Storm Raven out of it instead of using the Chapterhouse kit, which I guess could have been the point of this thing. (Or half the point. Or a side point taken into consideration).
<insert witty sig here>
The Storm Eagle basically has a whirlwind launcher on top, but with the new name since it lacks the ignore cover missile option. not the most powerful, but handy for anti-horde, as if you give it the multi-melta or typhoon launcher in the nose, and lascannon wings, you can hunt tanks with most guns and POMS the Vengeance Launchers into something softer.

any word on when the rules for that Deimos pattern turret will be available, or when it's rules will be known?

Man, I have never been more tempted by forgeworld before..
Came close with Contemptor Dreadnought and Hydra though.
Even Guard and Tau will not like it. S5 AP4 wounds them on 2 and ignores their armor. Cover saves only!

Perhaps a long shot, but could anyone who has a Stormeagle take some photos of the resin components?
...i'm simply too impatient to await mine arriving.
True, but Guard and Tau at least have vehicles they can sit in that protect them. The storm hawk looks like it's going to be a Tyranid player's worst nightmare - capable of taking out the big stuff (lascannons and typhoon launcher) and at the same time casually chucking 2 S5AP4 pieplates on any gaunt brood in line of sight as an afterthought.

Agreed. The Storm hawk has the potential to make life extremely uncomfortable for anyone not wearing power armour or better (although even they might want to think twice about it, given the sheer number of saves a well place salvo from the vengence launcher could cause).
The option for 4 hellstrike missiles is interesting; if you're willing to pay the points, it offers a pretty nasty Alpha strike.
Hellstrikes don't work at all, ever. Unless Marine ones are special, and Matt Ward didn't write these rules, so it is unlikley.
They're ordnance, and that trumps fast, ( as we found out with the Valkyrie) so you can only fire one at a time, and that precludes firing anything else. Damn.
Although I agree, PotMs to chuck two nasty large blasts at a separate infantry target to all the AT stuff is obvious and will work only too well.
Occasionally accused of being helpful and constructive.
OneringBook to rule them all, oneringplace to find them, OneringCodex to bring them all, and in theDarknessfuture bind them. Time for the unified Marine Codex.
There's an "unboxing" video on Youtube, if that helps:

@ Jaqtaar - that does indeed look to help, i will watch it in due course. thank you very much.
Though if you take the 2 twin-linked lascannons and the twin-linked multi-melta loadout, the Storm Eagle is at least 300 points, which makes it a huge point sink for an AV12 vehicle of that size. You either have the option to go Flat-out to claim a cover save, but only be able to fire 1 weapons with PotMS, or go slow and use the gunship to its full potential, but most likely watch it go up in flames the next turn against any army with some decent ranged anti-tank (left).

Got to say - I love the high tech conversion beamer and plasma turret. If you can buy just the turrets, it may end up being my first FW purchase!
