Those spaces infront of the rocket launchers look like they might be supposed to be clear or empty for some reasons. I can't really tell why they look so odd.

We can see the Twin-lascannons on each wing, good for anti-aircraft and anti-tank. The front has the standard Storm Raven weapons mount, so Multi-melta/Heavy Bolter/Rocket launcher. I wonder what the rocket pods on the top are supposed to be? Apocalypse launcher system? A battery of anti-tank/anti-shipping rockets?

Alternate weapons I suspect may be available would be hellfire rockets or anti-tank/anti-shipping rockets under the wings instead of lascannons and the rocket system may be swap-able for a scout-class titan gun. This assumes it's a light super-heavy. I'm thinking 2 structure points.

I originally thought those black spots in front of the box missile launchers were spaces for them to fold down into (which would have been AWESOME, thinking of the UD-4 Cheyenne from Aliens unfolding its missile pods here). Upon further inspection, there's technological stuff and shapes in those holes, so unless the missile boxes fold to the rear, between the engine exhausts, they're fixed. Which is too damn bad.

The predator options are interesting, though I don't see the Conversion Beamer option being hugely popular, even if it looks cool.

The "Storm Eagle" is really irking me. Nice model, very cool looking, but the Stormraven I felt was something that wasn't ever something that really should have been introduced in the first place and this looks like it's basically just a rejiggered version of that being made available to all marines, effectively giving everyone decently armored fast skimmer gunship transports at this point. I feel that really makes the Thunderhawk redundant, and screams "bandwagon".

To follow on from Phil Brad (hey dude, we need to game again soon!) I think the Storm Eagle breaks down as follows:

    From the Storm Raven
    Hull top
    Engines
    Cockpit & weapons system

Resin side plates (a la Deimos rhinos)
Rear hull and top areas resin
Missile system looks like the Caestus system - possible rules crossover?
Inserts for the turret hole and air intake area (partial cover)

Not sure, but i think we could have new exhaust petals on the end of the engines - while awesome and a great after market conversion I often add from 1/48th scale accessories, if it cut down on price they're not essntial.

However, could be wrong and they might be the plastics </end caveat>

As for the tail, I reckon (depending upon the rea) that you can probably graft on the SR tail to this for awesomeness incorporated

Really loving the look of this and can;t wait to see what the rules are like

Hmm, I'm actually not keen on the plasma turret. I think it's the strip down the middle that extends out past the barrels, just doesn't look right. The conversion beamer turret, however... that looks fantastic. Just the basic idea of a conversion beamer on a predator is excellent

The Stormeagle. April Fool's joke? Usually they make them pretty obvious (though apparently some people did fall for "how to roll Citadel dice")... if it turns out this is one, there will be so many complaints they will surely make it anyway, I'd imagine. It looks great, like they took all the common complaints about the Stormraven and used them a basis for this. Significantly bigger, too, what sort of transport capacity would that thing have? As well as more than a squad's worth of marines, I imagine it could carry the rapier that they have conveniently just released.
Though my guards may sleep and ships may lie at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Exactly as SILDANI says it helps keep thing centred, with this and a Stormeagle thread running there's bound to be things said on both, keeps everyone using a single resource to post news and comment in. With the FW Openday coming this weekend you'll see a lot about this in there.

Lol has only been about 9 years chap I concur with this SR kit looks very much to being a donor here rather than the centre for the conversion.

Think they are the original exhausts looking at my StormBudgie. There's plenty of 1/48th 'fast jet' resin/brass conversions that could spice this up though. Can't see the point of what appears to be the clear inserts in front of the missile pods, just wondering if this variant has the Dreadnought lifting capability of the StormBudgie. Having had a look at IA2 last night this would appear to sit very nicely between the Storm Raven and Thunderhawk with troop capacity, although the Storm Raven does pack a good amount of weaponry for its size, this on initial view only seems to match that, without the Hurricane bolter pods slightly less.

I know theres the two little fins over the engines but that centre tail piece just looks tacked on. a T tail would give a stronger visual link to the Thawk though perhaps slightly larger over engine fins would give the Stormeagle its own look.

They appear to be the same design as the Hyperios Missile Launcher to me.

What it looks like to me is plastic fuselage top, cockpit, nose ramp, engines, wings. The strange black insets look like they are there due to the fact that the SR wing pieces have a tab at about that point where they attach to the body that is relatively sunken from the top of the engine mount. Either they have to have people cut off that tab, of deal with it somehow, and the inset looks like it. There is a resin bottom to the engine section, and fins that go over the top, but the rest of the cowling looks like the plastic model.

Indeed they have, at least partially, I'm getting a 404 Not Found page now. OTOH, the link to just the picture from the other thread still works.

Anyone care to share what was on the now-not-working link, apart from the picture?

I'm surprised they removed it as their FB page says that they are prepping one final newsletter to come out soon (today) before the open day. I expected it might contain the stormeagle but maybe not if they have removed it (unless they will put it back up when the newsletter is sent.)
