It's been confirmed by forgeworld via Facebook that one if their ideas for the next fantasy book is a brettonian crusade agaist the tombs kings. The exact comment posted was:
"the Bretonnian crusade against Khemri is one concept of many that we've been kicking around"
Thought this was news that I didn't see posted anywhere else. This also tells us they have started the next book yet.
This only means that they have like twelve different ideas for a distant future book and this is one of them. No news or rumour here IMO.
This is the war-ravaged world of Warhammer, and there's only WAR!... and hammers.
And it means that they have started thinking about what to do for the next book, not the book itself. One of many possible ideas does not a WIP make.
I'll keep this thread open, because there might very well come something about this topic from FW Open Day tomorrow.
I hear the next WF book (after Monstrous Arcanum, I mean) will be themed around one of the Battles for Blackfire Pass... Empire and Dwarfs vs. Greenskins. No Sigmar, one of the later battles (I actually heard third, but then it featured in this month's White Dwarf - not sure whether that's convergence or contradiction).
WF needs to do some elf models/book, high, dark, wood.. Something!

This just shows me that Warhammer Forge is on the right path, whether they do this particular idea or not, just the fact that this is an option shows to me that very good people are steering these projects. Monsterous Arcanum is very cool I'm sure, and I'll probably buy it whenever I get my DE army started, but historical/current crusades like Tamurkhan is where its at.
I asked the question on facebook. It was the last concrete thing I heard about a follow up campaign book. I like monsterous arcana but I rather have a campaign book so I decided to ask. Glad they responded hopefully tomorrow brings us news about both IA12 and the next WF campaign book. I really like that we have 2 seperate branches now because it means double the books. The wait between IA books is annoyingly long.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to find out about IA13 and the third WF campaign book. Tomorrow will be a good day.

Interesting, but all it really suggests is *one* idea, amongst several, for a future book. But its an interesting rumour none the less. When, and if, it materialises in another matter. But what it does show is that FW have consider the idea and, regardless if it doesn't come next, will possibly return to it.
In my opinion, it seems like a fairly good concept. It offers the option of inventing some crazy living statues, undead desert-beasts, and other assorted TK craziness, and also allows the possibility of some Bret 'crusader' upgrade kits, new characters, siege equipment and other assorted craziness.
Whether they make it the next book down the pipeline or pencil it in as a future project is unknown, but it seems like a good idea (maybe even tie in the Empire as well, echoing the Araby crusades).

The only thing I dont like about this is that I really, really want to play TK and this won't help anything...Love the production out of WF lately.

I'd actually prefer a book on solely Araby. Base it around the Bretonnian crusades into Araby and introduce all sorts of crazy Arabian/North African/Iranian influence into the Warhammer World with loads of new units. The WF guys did a fairly good job at bringing back the Chaos Dwarfs, lets see another expansion into a neglected corner of the Warhammer World instead of (blah) Tomb Kings.

I'm really pleased to see Forgeworld contributing so much to WHFB. Doing Imperial Armour books for fantasy would fantastic!
So... if one of their ideas is "Brets vs TK" (and there are a few shots in the TK book of Brets getting beaten by Khemri), does this mean that GW has Bretonnians in the works? It would seem silly for Forgeworld to base their book off of the considerably old Bret book.

Also Warhammer Forge working on something in no way indicates GW may or may not be working on something, sorry to say.

Really? That's kind of disappointing, although it will be nice to see the stunties get some love.
I hope no matter what that it includes an Araby list... that is something I have been waiting for since like 2nd ed.
Could be cool with a Bretonnia crusade crashing with an Araby one against the Khemri...

I too would like some Araby attention! That's something that would really make me tempted to give some of my money to Warhammer Forge. What with current real world politics, it might be a sensitive subject bringing up crusades into Araby. Well, then, make it some kind of alliance between Bretonnia and Araby against the Undead threat! Anything arabian, persian and north african themed would be welcome in my book!

This is my first news post, its not really a rumor. But look at tamurhkan, it involves two existing armies and has a list for a third. Imagine brets,tomb kings and an Araby list in the book..maybe add estalia too or something too. I say that cause I have no more faith in the contingent rumors whatsoever. But just imagine the units...I play neither but I'd still love to see it.
Wonder what new units the Brets will get if this is true.....a lot of interesting concepts out there to work off of.
