I don't think I have any of these outlandish pieces, although I am not completely certain which ones you mean.
I don't even know how the game works, to be honest, having never played it so far.
If I stick to Malifaux I'll probably do Rasputina next. Or maybe finish my Showgirls finally.

Because... I love those bases I haven't seen them used much (the general complain is that they are *too* scenic, and add too much height), especially by Haqqislam players: Most people use desertic bases for them, but when I discovered those urban fight bases I knew I had to use them That being said, I'll probably use a standard yellowish/greenish color scheme. Not sure yet, we'll see how it works with the bases.

Liking the picture background though. Might have to steal that idea
That idea wasn't mine, I also stole it from some forum thread on the official infinity site

    Hey All,

I would love to take part in this.
End of April I move, so that may be rough, but I have 6 or 7 Skaven models I'm currently working on (Weapon Teams, Grey Seer, and some Spearmen; you can see them in my plog in my signature).

So its end of the month progress reports?? I think this is VERY doable (even my girlfriend says "that should be totally doable, go for it" )
Molovian Guard (2,500 -ish Imperial Guard) (In all manner of shambles)
Wuzza's Whirlin' Wheelerz (In progress 2k SpeedFreeks)
The Horde of the Horned one (3k Skaven)
Check out my Painting Blog! Comments/Criticism welcome! Currently featuring Orks and Skaven!

I should have some time tonight to put some paint down but I'm not banking on it just yet as I have an essay to write. I do however have stacks of time off coming up thanks to all those lovely bank holidays.
I hope not to disappoint Gomez. Good luck with the essay, what's it on?

Here we go, sorry about the poor quality these where taken very quickly on my phone.

Infinity Pan O Fusiliers. Paint on these guys is from testing out colour schemes to see what might work. Plan is to get two of these guys done this month and two next month, if I can get all 4 done this month then all the better but that's not the goal.

Malifaux: Taelor she was painted very quickly around two years ago, plan is to completely redo her and get her looking at the very least half decent.

Re: Tale Of Skirmish Painters season 2 - April WIP

Alrighty, here's what I'm aiming to paint for this tale - 6 each of quar, fubarnii, and gladiators.

First up are the 6 quar, from left to right we've got a Crusader mortar team, Crusader Syrnol (rough equivalent of a Colonel, I think...), and two Coftyran snipers. I realize that's only 5 minis - the 6th is a Crusader Caerten (Cpt. equivalent) and apparently I just forgot to put him with his buddies.

For fubarnii, left to right we've got an Empire knight captain, Delgon strider, Delgon scout, another strider, another scout, and an Empire engineer.

And gladiators! Left to right again, there's a Thraex, Dimachaeri, Hoplomachus, Secutor, another Hoplomachus, and Scissori.

So yeah, as you can see my last can of primer ran out half way through coating some of these guys, but I've picked up a new can so all is good again! I'm kind of hoping I'll get to paint more than that, but at least this goal gives me 3 per month, one from each group (although I'll probably try to do the quar mortar team together).

For month 1, I'm painting the quar Caerten, a Delgon scout, and gladiator TBD.

Pretty pumped for this tale, looks like people have some cool projects planned!
The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

@Whitwort The Fubarni look really fun models.

Managed to finish off the two Caberthrowers and Mortemer, the savant.

Nice and simple and actually surprised how easily they came together. Bodes well if I'm buying any more Kriel warriors shortly for Grissel's tier list.

Quite happy with how the book turned out. Done an inscription on his las pistol as I figured he'd inscribe most of his equipment. Just spotted the random drop of metal on his laspistol so need to tidy that up.

Starting on the Wayfarer/Priest now. Seriously need to figure out what colour to do his robes. I could go for a lighter green maybe even up to olive. Red robes for him would probably not work that well in terms of fitting the rest of the warband.

Re: Tale Of Skirmish Painters season 2 - April WIP

OK, here's what I'm aiming to paint up over the tale:

First up, 12 Puppet Wars Puppets:

From the back, l-r: Malifaux Cherub, Misaki, Ronin, Rusty Alyce, Bete Noire, Lady Justice, Punk Zombie, Zombie Chihuahua, Executioner, Nurse, Death Marshal, Convict Gunslinger.

If I manage to get all 12 done, I'm hoping to finish Seamus' crew off, with the 3 belles and Madam Sybelle (which I started for the last tale but got swamped with uni work):

Gomez has kindly offered to buy me the Viktorias box set if I manage to get it all done - and if that doesn't motivate me to actually get painting I don't know what will!

Yes! The Puppet Wars minis are awesome, glad to see someone taking them on. Should be cool to see some painted Red Box minis, too.

Yeah! I think they'll be a lot of fun to paint.

EDIT: Damn, Gomez, you dig up the coolest models! That figure is awesome.

    Great stuff so far!!!

I want my Vaettir to be creatures of darkness (born from light), so dark with some extreme colour. This is a WIP, the upper body is almost done (mouth, eyes and small corrections). I am a bit unsure about the colour, what do you think?

Little Joe - I'd probably put a bit of the body colour into the swirling mass to show that there is more of a connection to that for them.

I'm a bit ahead in my plog as I don't want to overwhelm in here with my WIP and finished stuff. I have looked and pretty much decided my next to paint projects.

Nomad is very WIP at the moment and finished the Freebooter Brotherhood member, which has prompted me to dig out the rest that are assembled to paint.

Using the Rackham model as an alternative Coscritti. Planning on having Epic Grissel done by this weekend as I'm on with detail on her now the skin, armour and tartan are all done.

    Hi everyone!
As said before this is my husband's account so I guess I'm Wife_of_Durek lol

So I’ve decided to paint my Kaeris crew and my Sonnia crew with her avatar, all from Malifaux. First off will be my gamins, followed by the gunsmiths and then my soul stone miner (which is still not in) and finally Kaeris. I’m hoping to work on lighting effects since most of the models will have fire and possibly NMM. Should be fun!

Hope to start soon as the month is running on, btw whats a Joker?

Re: Tale Of Skirmish Painters season 2 - April WIP

Well I've put the paint brushes down for the night, time to get around to replying to people

LITTLE JOE - I was thinking the same thing about the fish I remember awhile back someone did a group of plastic boar boys running through water that had a splashing effect. I'll rummage around and see if I can find it but if I remember rightly he used UHU glue on strands of hair. Might work, might not.
RE: The Vreabes I think its the eyes that are throwing the scheme off. The contrast between the two is a little too harsh. Maybe a nice flourescent green/blue?

EMPEROR NORTON - Well you have things like Killjoy, desolation engine, and Jack Daw, or if you prefer something more human theres models like Sue and McTavish. Showgirls would be nice too though...

KISANIS - I sent you a PM, welcome aboard and all that

HAIRY NORSEMAN - It was on Seamus Heaneys Burial At Thebes, which is an adaptation of Antigone. I got it back today and it scored 68% and I got praised for my close reading of the text... which is pretty good seeing as though I didn't read the text all the way through or finish the learning

BASHER - Nice little horde you have there, is that a zombie controller or two I see on the left of the first pic?

ARCANUM - Photos are surprisingly good considering its a phone camera. Whats the color scheme you've got planned?

WHITWORT - I like the Drogu with the bow from twilight, nice little touch to have him peaking out from behind the wall. I have to agree with you about this years tale - lots of variety, no two people doing the same.. just as it should be
And thank you re: the models. I've said it before, I'm a model magpie. If theres a pretty model chances are its either on a 'to buy' list or sat on my desk already.

KERAVIN - The Caber throwers are really nice - any chance of a bigger picture of there cabers? The servitor has turned out really nicely. I can see that leave is working out well!

MORTICIA - I have a feeling I'm going to regret that promise...

KILLSHOT - GAH! Thats a bugger. Did you order them direct from Tre or through a retailer?

BUBBATRON - Glad you found your way in here, and kudos for choosing the harder of the two options Are you carrying on the umbrella corp scheme through the whole group, or are the not-captain scarlet group getting a more traditional scheme (I think you may have mentioned in your PM but I've just cleared the inbox.

WIFE OF DUREK - A joker is basically a month off - it means that if you move house or theres a family crisis you get a bit of breathing room. Its also used if your simply not feeling it that month, as happens to all of us from time to time. Its just a way of taking the pressure off but I don't think many people played them last year. Lots of advanced techniques on the cards which is always good - not sure if I'm brave enough to be trying NMM on my crew

And all caught up finally! The list of participants will go up tomorrow. I know a few people are concerned about being left behind at the moment but don't panic just yet! You still have around three weeks to paint just a single figure.

I'm still deciding whether or not to do some infinity for this seasons tale or not - I have a Lizard on the way though..
@Gomez: Yes , red and black will be the way to go with my Nomads. But what looks like cream is light grey (crappy kitchen lighting...). I see that you are continuing the Malifaux proxies tradition. How dare you replace old, ugly, saggy Zoraida with a pretty young lady ?(unless she's in avatar form, of course)

@everyone: nice work so far. One of the coolest things in this tale is seeing the great variety that the gaming industry has to offer, and that painters can chose from completely different styles of models, and go with their own personnal painting style. And it's also cool to see that much Infinity and Malifaux, because they are personnal favorites

    WIP time:
The Szalamandra is almost finished. I just need to do the basing and get better pictures. For the base, I might try the new citadel basing-in-a-pot formula, but I'm not sure how good it would look on a base of that size.

And the Interventor just got her basecoat today:

I do not like stark switches, but wanted to keep the torso clean for a change. Can't get dirt on elemental energy. I will look into it and probably add a few lines of darker green/blue. The whirlwind will be a lot brighter in the end so that may be a good idea anyhow. First I will finish the upper bodies and then get the base done.

Yes, that was Hastings75, with a great tutorial as well. I was thinking of using window color to make splashy waves but I will check the tutorial again for droplets.
The eyes went through orange to yellow and do make for a stark contrast, I will consider it. Yesterday I checked some dark eldar plogs for dark armour and am considering a highlight (was leaving it out on purpose). Darkness is so hard to paint. I will make a few tries on paper later on and post something this evening must get to work now.
Actually some lines of the brightest green (still dark) were going to be applied around the eyes. I do not want to use OLS on them, which would be too much and kill the dark theme on the head.
