Really liking the glade Little Joe, looking great already, even before you've started to paint it. Great idea, may have to add some little snotlings to my wood.
Speaking of, here's pics below, a very late start to the tale for me, but I've got this done this weekend, and with more daylight hours left today, should be near finished

I made a tester of different shades of red-purple for the leaves, however didn't really like any of them

Ended up just painting 2-3 think coats of watered down red gore over white primer for the leaves, which will have a few individual leaves picked out as pink/purple later on

The trees so far are a dark grey, 3-4 watered down coats of adeptus battle grey, will begin to highlight into a light grey/silver in a bit

Well they look the colours you wanted to me so far, the pinks were a bit too bright.

I think that adding the right colour(s) of static grass can help a lot as well.
Bright greens will add to the bright trees and dark greens will add to the leaves.
Your choice of a dark yellow dirt should work very favourably as well.

Looking forward to seeing them done, always good to see it done in a new way.
Did you find the base? Just asking because it could show us some of the basing already done.
