Sadly the "Game of Thrones" TV series hasnt run here yet- but I am looking forward to it if it comes, because I heard so much about it.
But I have the audiobooks of the novel sitting around here- I definitely will start listening to them during my army painting sessions .

Read the books before you watch the series. The TV series is a great adaptation and I was impressed with some of the storylines they left in but the book naturally covers so much more. I was lucky enough to be put onto them a few years back by a friend and I've read them all twice through now because they really are great. Guessing the audiobooks are word for word so they would be better before the TV series too.

Finished my Butcheress ogre (Shaman ogre model from Reaper).





This is a very fun model to paint with lots of great little details like a voodoo doll,
shriveled heads, deathcap mushrooms and a frog!
It is also a very heavy miniature (all metal) and I had to rest a lot in between painting
to avoid getting a cramp.

Great job, lovely skin. I echo Jonahmaul's sentiments that you should read AGOT before watching it. As good as the series is (and it's damned good) the books are better. Except Bronn, Bronn is awesome in the books, but even better on the show. Now, go read the books so you know who Bronn is!

Now the assembled models for my army look like this-
Characters:

- Reaper Butcheress
- converted BSB
- converted alternative Tyrant with a brace of pistols (Empire Handguns)
Core:
- 12 Bulls
- 9 Ironguts
- a 40+ horde of Gnoblars (with some converted unit fillers)
Special:
- 6 Sabretusk stand-ins from Reaper
- 8 Leadbelchers
- 3 converted Maneaters with ogre pistols (Empire and Dwarf Handguns)
Rare:
- 2 Ironblasters

Plus another box of Ogre Bulls-
I havent decided yet if I use them as bulls, or use them for some more conversions,
or use my left-over bits to make another unit of Ironguts.

As you can see I am not really interested in fielding the most competitive units-
I especially love my gnoblar horde because I intend to have all these funny conversions and unit fillers in there.
Looking at the background for the ogre army I just had to have a gnoblar horde and I also want more normal bulls than Ironguts
I also thought that my fire cult tribe should be led by a tyrant wielding guns- I am not sure how a shooty tyrant will perform in game...
And the 2 Ironblasters- I just love the models. These models actually made me start the army. I feel a bit guilty that the whole of the internet complains now that Ironblasters are OVERPOWERED....

Now I just have to get all of this painted.....
And organise my first games.

I calculated the size of the army including magic items and similar and came up to a whopping 3000 Points-
thats more than I was planning for! :P

As for my last box of Bulls- I decided to build them up as bulls with 2 hand weapons-
but giving them lots of Ironguts bits- indicating that they are about to step up the ladder.

Cant wait to paint them all!

Sadly I will be away quite a lot over the next 5 weeks-
so painting spree is scheduled after that!

Spend the day today to play around with green stuff.
I only have used it before a couple of times, so there is still MUCH to learn.
But its good to do some practicing.

Argh- just see in the picture I forgot to clean up a molt line! Spend hours cleaning up the miniatures. Not good enough....



Tyrant- now he has some cloth wrapped around his gun as well as a flayed human skin hanging from his belt.



And my Bragg conversion- I had to re-skulpt an elbow. And I added some freshly ripped guts to the base.

This is a great looking army! That gnoblar unit is one of the most characterful that I've seen, love the unit fillers and diorama-style basing.

Some updates on my ogres:I

After I have been home, I could get some of my Empire bits-
a lion shield gut plate and another laurel shield for my BSB.

Got some new toys- thanks to Eastern Barbarian.

The awesome limited edition Bruiser- I will use him as unit champion for my shooty maneaters


And a conversion- counts as Scrap Launcher. Using an Empire mortar and crew and some gnoblar overseers.
The human slaves will get chains around their legs to emphasize that they are slaves...

Great looking stuff. Like the idea of the scrap launcher but personally I think that you need to have a couple of gnoblars facing the crew or maybe one ogre overseer as gnoblars are very cowardly! I think you need to put some scrap in the mortar itself too but otherwise it's looking great.

@Jonahmaul- yeah, I am still thinking about what to add.....
I havent glued anything on yet.
But I definitely will add chains and chain the humans to their mortar to show they are slaves....
